GOD'S PROVISION I

GOD’S PROVISION I

Luke 12:27 ” Consider how the lilies grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you, not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. “

The Scene: A bright lily aglow in its natural God-given glory.

The Lord has promised to take care of His own people–those who believe in Jesus Christ, the Son of God, who have confessed their sin, repented and have been forgiven by Jesus. Now they are filled with His Holy Spirit and have an opportunity to remain faithful. They shall have their needs met.

For the Lord our God has said, “Fear not for you are mine. Fear not!”

Luke 12:32 ” Do not be afraid, little flock, for your Father has been pleased to give you the kingdom.”

Psalm 105:4 “Look to the Lord and his strength; seek his face always.”

Luke 11:10 “For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened.”

6-12 GOD’S PROVISION

SEEK THE LORD

SEEK THE LORD

Psalm 105:4 “Look to the Lord and his strength; seek his face always.”

The Scene: Arrows pointing toward the name of Jesus–symbolic of keeping our eyes focused on our Savior Jesus Christ.

Matthew 14:31 tells us Peter lost focus on Jesus and began to sink into the sea. “Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. ‘You of little faith,’ he said, ‘Why did you doubt?’ “

The Holy Spirit through His Word shows us we must not doubt or fear as Peter did.

Isaiah 55:6 “Seek the Lord while he may be found; call on him while he is near.”

Jeremiah 29:13 “You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.”

We are filled with His Spirit and are called to follow after righteousness, seek God, leave sin behind.

Zephaniah 2:3 ” Seek the Lord, all you humble of the land, you who do what he commands, seek righteousness, seek humility; perhaps you will be sheltered on the day of the Lord’s anger.”

We can expand our spiritual maturity and understanding God, when week seek Him and His Word.

Hosea 10:12 ” Sow for yourselves righteousness, reap the fruit of unfailing love, and break up your unplowed ground; for it is time to seek the Lord, until he comes and showers righteousness on you.”

6-10 SEEK JESUS

NOT QUICKLY BROKEN

NOT QUICKLY BROKEN

Ecclesiastes 4:12 “Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.”

The scene: A rope made of three strands symbolic of Biblical marriage: one strand the bride, one strand the groom and one strand the Holy Trinity (Father, Son, Holy Spirit).

The relationship between man and wife is unique, according to the book of Genesis when God created Adam and Eve. From the beginning of God’s creation, marriage is Christ centered, that is, from the beginning of the marital relationship, God’s perfect will is that the bond not be broken. The bonds are too strong, like a multi-braided rope. The single strand of cord becomes strengthened when braided with additional strands.

Matthew 19:4-6 “Haven’t you read,” he replied, “that at the beginning the Creator made them male and female, and said, ‘For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh?’ So they are no longer two but one. Therefore what God has joined together, let not man separate.’ “

Pray daily to keep the ties of marriage strong. Pray for your spouse daily.

6-11 MARRIAGE

COME UP HIGHER

COME UP HIGHER

Revelation 19:9 “Then the angel said to me, ‘Write: Blessed are those who are invited to the wedding supper of the Lamb!’ And he added, ‘These are the true words of God.’ “

The Scene: Stairs are rising toward heaven–symbolic of the steps of spiritual maturity that Christians climb as they ascend to their destination, heaven, and receive their heavenly rewards.

We are called to study the Word of God so that we can grow in spiritual maturity and be of good service to Father God, Jesus Christ His Son, and the Holy Spirit.

2 Timothy 2:15 “Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the Word of truth.”

The Holy Spirit is calling His people to come up higher and to be holy as God is holy, maturing in God’s spiritual realm and learning from Him, daily.

6-7 GROWING IN MATURITY

ABOLISHING THE LAW

ABOLISHING THE LAW

Ephesians 2:14-16 “For he himself is our peace, who has made the two one and and has destroyed the barrier, the dividing wall of hostility, by abolishing in his flesh the law with its commandments and regulations. His purpose was to create in himself one new man out of the two, thus making peace, and in this one body to reconcile both of them to God through the cross, by which he put to death the hostility.”

The Scene: The cross of Christ represented–with the shadow of the cross symbolic of the tablets of the law as brought down from the mountain, by Moses.

“My people have come out from the shadow of darkness of this world and the law into the light of the world, God’s only Son, Jesus.” (Quickened to the author by the Holy Spirit)

Colossians 2:14 “Having canceled the written code, with its regulations, that was against us and that stood opposed to us; he took it away, nailing it to the cross.”

However, there are those who have chosen to continue living under the law & walking in its darkness–the shadow of the cross, rather than its reality. Hebrews 7:18-19 “The former regulation is set aside because it was weak and useless (for the law made nothing perfect), and a better hope is introduced, by which we draw near to God.”

Now we know Jesus is returning for His bride–He is the Light of the world; there will be no more shadow of the law, no more darkness. Hebrews 10:1 “The law is only a shadow of the good things that are coming–not the realities themselves. For this reason it can never, by the same sacrifices repeated endlessly year after year, make perfect those who draw near to worship.”

6-6 THE LAW

HALF FULL

HALF FULL

Isaiah 41:10 “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”

The Scene: A glass as seen half full or half empty– depending how our minds are set during troubled times.

The strongman, the spirit of heaviness, will try to bring down God’s people. However, God is for us.

Isaiah 61:1-3 “The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn, and provide for those who grieve in Zion– to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of his splendor.”

Jesus in His Word He tells us, the strong man, the spirit of heaviness, can be bound in the mighty name of Jesus and in its place we must loose the garment of praise, the oil of joy and the Holy Spirit, in the mighty name of Jesus.

Matthew 18:18 ” I tell you the truth, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.”

6-5 HALF FULL–FAITH/TESTING

GOD IS NOT SANTA CLAUS

GOD IS NOT SANTA CLAUS

GOD IS NOT SANTA CLAUS

1 John 2:15 ” Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.”

The world’s view of Christmas is Santa Claus, which can lead to an illusion. The Christian’s view of Christmas is, “Give us Jesus”.  Although St. Nicholas is seen as a good man, he wasn’t God.  Jesus Christ the Lord is God in the flesh, sent to earth to show us the Father and His unconditional love.

1John 2:16-17 ” The craving of sinful man, the lust of his eyes, and the boasting of what he has and does– comes not from the Father but from the world. The world and its desires pass away, but the man who does the will of God lives forever.”

Ask Jesus daily, for yourself and your family, to guide your steps, to help you heed God’s wisdom and God’s discernment.”

HE PRESERVES

HE PRESERVES

Psalm 31:23 ” Love the Lord, all his saints! The Lord preserves the faithful, but the proud he pays back in full.”

The Scene: Appearing at first like a jar of preserves–the Holy Spirit quickened, ‘See preserves in the Holy Scriptures.’

Psalm 66:8-9 “Praise our God, O peoples, let the sound of his praise be heard; he has preserved our lives and kept our feet from slipping.” (Because we are stable when our trust is founded on the Rock of Christ Jesus our Lord.)

Ecclesiastes 7:11-12 “Wisdom, like an inheritance, is a good thing and benefits those who see the sun. Wisdom is a shelter as money is a shelter, but the advantage of knowledge is this: that wisdom preserves the life of its possessor.”

Our only true wisdom comes from God and His Word.

So, gain wisdom from Him who gives life to all. (For more study, meditation on preserves see Psalm 119:23, 37,40,88,149,154,156)

Preserve my life, O Lord!

6-4 HE PRESERVES

STAIRWAY TO HEAVEN/HELL

Proverbs 14:12 “There is a way that seems right to a man, but it ends up leading to death.”

The Point: In God’s world not making a choice is a choice.

The Scene: The way people live does make a difference. Their choices can lead them up or down; to everlasting life in heaven or to eternal separation from God in hell.

We all have family members, friends and acquaintances who may have said they haven’t made a decision yet to believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and Savior of the world and to decide if they want to invite Him into their hearts. Jesus is coming! As children of Father God, we are called to help expand the kingdom of heaven and to give Him glory (honor, respect).

Mark 16: 15-16 “He said to them. ‘ Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.”

We all know someone who has not made that decision, to accept Jesus as Lord and Savior. We can pray for that person(s) and ask for an opportunity to open the door, so they can be saved and enjoy heaven with us. Jesus said, ‘Repent for the kingdom of heaven is at hand!'(Matthew 4:17)

We can help expand God’s kingdom by setting a good example for those who are unsaved.

6-1 STAIRWAY TO HEAVEN/HELL

THE BLIND SHALL SEE

THE BLIND SHALL SEE

Mark 10: 51-52 ” ‘What do you want me to do for you?’ Jesus asked him. The blind man said, ‘Rabbi, I want to see.’ ‘Go,’ said Jesus, ‘Your faith has healed you.’ Immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus along the road.”

The Scene: Blind man’s gear: a broken pair of glasses and a cane–the tools of a spiritually blind person (now broken by God’s Word).

Mankind is always blind to God’s truth, until he has been taught, has read the Word for himself, and believes the Holy Scripture’s truth. Then that person is no longer blind to the Word. The Word is implanted in one’s mind to see the mystery of God revealed: Jesus Christ, Son of God, Savior–Lord of all who will accept Him. They now see clearly.

Jesus taught the people the Word–He healed their physical bodies, minds, and spirits, as well. Their blindness, dullness* to the Word was gone. *dullness: Ephesians 4:18 ” They are darkened in their understanding and separated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them due to the hardening of their hearts.” They were made to see the truth of the Word and became true believers, their sight was restored and they could believe for themselves, led by the Holy Spirit.

2 Corinthians 4:4 “The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ.”

6-2 THE BLIND SHALL SEESPIRITUAL BLINDNESS
