Job 23:10 ” But he knows the way that I take; when he has tested me, I will come forth as gold.”

The Scene: The reservoir of water represents God’s blessings that come to us through His Word as living water. Ask and you will receive, His Word says in John 16:23. However, the enemy, Satan, comes to kill, steal and destroy (John 10:10). 

God allows trials to strengthen us, to refine us as pure as gold.

A break in the reservoir is sometimes allowed.

Isiah 30:20 “Although the Lord gives you the bread of adversity and the water of affliction, your teachers will be hidden no more; with your own eyes you will see them.”

God always shows His children the way through their dilemmas, when they ask Him for His help. He is always available, never too busy. God the Father knows our every need.

Isiah 30:21 “Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying,’This is the way; walk in it.'”

John 16:33 “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”

Zechariah 10:1 ” Ask the Lord for rain in the springtime; it is the Lord who makes the storm clouds. He gives showers of rain to men, and plants of the field to everyone.”

The scene: A tree in the wintertime–winter sky.

In this world men’s hearts are cold and dark, like wintertime. But at Jesus’ Second Coming, the Son will  shine  in their hearts, and it will be as springtime*. The trees will bloom and men will gather in the shade of God’s trees and give Him praise.

  • Springtime represents God’s blessings.

Zechariah 3:1o “In that day each of you will invite his neighbor to sit under his vine and fig tree, declares the Lord Almighty.”

THAT GREAT AWAKENING DAY

1 Corinthians 15:49 “And just as we have born the earthly likeness of the earthly man, so shall we bear the likeness of the man from heaven.”

The Scene: The great transformation that will take place on that great day at the last trumpet when glorified saints will rise from the dead and be changed. We cannot enter heaven with our mortal bodies.

1Corinthians 15:50 ” I declare to you, brothers, that flesh and blood cannot enter the kingdom of God, nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable.”

Having kept the faith, God’s children then can receive rewards– gain eternal life. We must have lived on this earth, praising God and believing in His resurrected Son, Jesus the Christ of Nazareth. Only then can we spend eternity in heaven.

1Corinthians 15:51 “Listen, I tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep, but will all be changed–in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed.”

We must follow the pattern set before us–Jesus came to earth, He lived, suffered, died and was resurrected. If we are faithful to God’s calling on our lives, then at the end of our earthly lives, our spirits then will go into the presence of God  for eternity.

PRAISES OF MY PEOPLE

                                  PRAISES OF MY PEOPLE

Psalm 71:22 “I will praise you with the harp for your faithfulness, O my God; I will sing praise to you with the lyre.”

The Scene: A pair of harps–similar to those used by King David, to play music to the Lord.  They appear as a pair of heavenly gates, that open when we praise, that gives us access to our God through His Holy Spirit.

Our God responds to our praises. He is the one who gives us hope and strength in time of need.

Psalm 59:17 “O my strength, I sing praises to you; You O God, are my fortress, my loving God.'”

God our Father covets our praises and prayers and gives us strength, in return, through His Holy Spirit, our Comforter.

ARMOR OF LIGHT

Romans 13:12 “The night is nearly over; the day is almost here. So let us put aside the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light.”**

** GOD OF LIGHT: John 3:19-21 “This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved the darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed. But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what he has done has been done through God.”

The Scene: A breastplate of armor of the Roman era, circa Jesus’ earthly ministry, representing the breastplate of righteousness–*

*NOTE: The armor was intended in its day to protect the wearer from a frontal attack only–it was understood that the wearer was to face the enemy, not turn  his back to the enemy. He was to stand firm and be of good courage.

Ephesians 6:14 ” Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace.”

The Christian, therefore, is to understand that the battle (spiritual) is the Lord Jesus Christ’s battle.

Each morning God’s children need to pray to the God of Light, Jesus, for His protection and guidance. When we do this it’s like putting on His whole armor of light to guide us. When we put on the whole armor of God we have Jesus in us. (For complete understanding of the whole armor Read Romans 13:10-20 and Ephesians 6:16-18.)

See Romans 7:15-ff “I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do. And if I do what I do not want to do, I agree that the law is good. I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my sinful nature.  For I have the desire to do what is good, but  I cannot carry it out. Now if I do what I do not want to do, it is no longer I who do it, but it is sin living in me that does it. So I find the law at work: Who will rescue me from  this body of death? Thanks be to God–through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, I myself in my mind am a slave to God’s law, but  in the sinful nature a slave to the law of sin.”

The Scene: Man’s legs in shackles, symbol of man being bound up by his sin then then being set free through the act of salvation, rather than through the law.  This also symbolizes the grace of Almighty God through His Son Jesus Christ, His atoning death and resurrection.

Man’s sinful nature makes him a slave to the law of sin and death.

Romans 8:1-2 “Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit of life set me free from the law of sin and death.

Having been set free through personal faith in Jesus Christ, we can soar with the eagles.

DO NOT JUDGE

Matthew 7:1-2Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.”

The Scene: A  measuring cup that is a person. The cup is half full, an indication that the person is not full, that is, incomplete, lacking in some way, according to the person viewing the cup (the one doing the judging).

Romans 2:1 “You, therefore, have no excuse, you who pass judgement on someone else, for at whatever point you judge the other, you are condemning yourself, because you who pass judgement do the same things.”

Self-condemnation is therefore brought upon oneself by judging others. Something worth pondering….

We are called to be servants of God, not judges–there is only one true Judge–God.What is the opposite of judging?  Christians are to show mercy to their brothers and sisters in Christ.

Matthew 5:7 “Blessed are the merciful for they will be shown mercy.” See the other Beatitudes for complete, better, understanding:  Matthew 5:1-11

Revelation 14:13 “Then I heard a voice from heaven say,’Write:  Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on.’ ‘Yes, says the Spirit, ‘they will rest from their labor, for their deeds will follow them.'”

1 Peter 2:2 “Like new born babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation, now that you have tasted that the Lord is good.”

The Scene: A grocery shopping cart filled with good food—symbolic of God’s Word like a shopping cart containing healthful food, to help Christians grow up in spiritual maturity.

The Holy Spirit directs us to come to Him for spiritual food. He directs us in understanding God’s Holy Word.

Deuteronomy 8:3 “He humbled you, causing you to hunger and then feeding you with manna, which neither you nor your fathers had known, to teach you that man does not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord.”

John 6:35-36 “ Then Jesus declared, ‘ I am the bread of life. He who comes to me will never go hungry and he who believes in me will never be thirsty.’ “

1 Corinthians 10:3-4 “They all ate the same spiritual food and drank the same spiritual drink; for they drank from the spiritual rock that accompanied them, and that rock was Christ.”

Matthew 26:34-35 I tell you the truth,” Jesus answered, “this very night, before the rooster crows, you will disown me tree times.” But Peter declared, “Even if I have to die with you, I will never disown you.”And all the other disciples said the same.”

The Scene: A symbolic rooster crows at sunrise.

Matthews 26:74-75 “Then he began to call down curses on himself and he swore to them, ‘I don’t know the man!’ Immediately a rooster crowed. Then Peter remembered the word Jesus had spoken: ‘Before the rooster crows, you will disown me three times.’ And he went outside and wept bitterly.”

Why did Jesus choose a rooster to sound off, as a reminder, to peter, as he denied his Lord?

And why did the rooster crow three times? Possibly because the rooster crows at dawn—announcing a new day—in this case announcing a new beginning for the world. Jesus would soon be crucified and His resurrection would follow three days later. With the risen Lord came a new beginning for all mankind.

In the Bible numbers, 3 represents several things: completion, resurrection, divinity, entire,Trinity, perfection, divine witness, solid and real.

Jesuscrucifixion made His work on earth complete; Jesus died so that the entire world could live eternally in heaven, if people choose to believe in Him as the Son of God, Savior.

Jesus’ coming made Father God real in the hearts of men. Jesus said, “If you have seen Me you have seen the Father.” He was perfection in that He never sinned. Jesus is called the Rock, as in solid as the rock and we can count on Him. He is with us always, a part of the Trinity, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit; And he was the divine witness of the one true God.

Lamentations 3:22-23 “Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.”

2 Peter 1:19 “And we have the word of the prophets made more certain, and you will do well to pay attention to it, as a light shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the Morning Star rises in your hearts.”

Jesus Christ has come!

Jesus, the Messiah has come!
