DO NOT JUDGE
Matthew 7:1-2 ” Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.”
The Scene: A measuring cup that is a person. The cup is half full, an indication that the person is not full, that is, incomplete, lacking in some way, according to the person viewing the cup (the one doing the judging).
Romans 2:1 “You, therefore, have no excuse, you who pass judgement on someone else, for at whatever point you judge the other, you are condemning yourself, because you who pass judgement do the same things.”
Self-condemnation is therefore brought upon oneself by judging others. Something worth pondering….
We are called to be servants of God, not judges–there is only one true Judge–God.What is the opposite of judging? Christians are to show mercy to their brothers and sisters in Christ.
Matthew 5:7 “Blessed are the merciful for they will be shown mercy.” See the other Beatitudes for complete, better, understanding: Matthew 5:1-11
Revelation 14:13 “Then I heard a voice from heaven say,’Write: Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on.’ ‘Yes, says the Spirit, ‘they will rest from their labor, for their deeds will follow them.'”
