JESUS SAVES

JESUS SAVES.jpg

JESUS SAVES

Romans 10:13 ” For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

The Scene: Life preserver floating in troubled waters.

Someone called for help! ”  Jesus! Jesus!” The waves were big and splashing all around. Then out of nowhere came a life preserver, landing in the water

James 1:2-6 “Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverence must finish its work so that you may mature and complete, not lacking anything. If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him. But when he asks, he must believe and not doubt, because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind.

Isaiah 12:2 “Surely God is my salvation; I will trust and not be afraid. The Lord, the Lord, is my strength and my song; for he has become my salvation.”

Isaiah 25:9 “In that day they will say, ‘Surely that is our God; we trusted in him and he saved us. This is the Lord, we trusted in him; let us rejoice and be glad in his salvation.”

RESTORER OF THE WALL

RESTORER OF THE WALL.jpg

RESTORER OF THE WALL

Nehemiah 4:20 ” Wherever you hear the sound of the trumpet join us* there. Our God will fight for us! ”

The Scene: Representation of the defender of our* faith, Jesus, standing in the gap of our damaged wall of faith.

Nehemiah’s desire was to repair the wall of Jerusalem, even though Israel’s enemies threatened to destroy whatever they rebuilt. The people were afraid. Nehemiah told them, “Our God will fight for us.” And so it is today:  Jesus will stand in the gap for us and defend us when our wall of faith has been weakened, or broken, damaged by people or circumstances that have hurt us.

1 John 5:5 ” Who is it that overcomes the world? Only he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God.”

*Born-again believers are those who have accepted Jesus Christ, Savior, Son of God the Father and have prayed for Jesus to be Lord of their lives.

HE CAME IN A CLOUD

HE CAME IN A CLOUD.jpgHE CAME IN A CLOUD

Exodus 19:9 “The Lord said to Moses, ‘I am going to come to you in a dense cloud.'”

The Scene: a cloud suggesting the presence of God, as seen by the brilliance shining around and through the cloud.

Many times through His Word the Lord has chosen to reveal Himself and His Work via a cloud.  God chose the cloud to show His presence and at the same time conceal Himself from us. God is Spirit.

Showing us clouds is God’s way of showing His people, in a land (Israel) that generally lacked clouds and rain much of the year, that He was present with them and was available when they called upon Him in time of need.

The same is true today.  He is with us in the same way.

Luke 21:27 ” At that time they will see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.”

Acts 1:9 ” After he said this, he was taken up before there very eyes, and a cloud hid him from their sight.”

So, maybe the next time you see one of those magnificent  great cumulus clouds in the sky, remember our great God is watching over us.

Remember Me (One was left….)

Luke 23:41-43 “We are punished justly, for we are getting what our deeds deserve. But this man has done nothing wrong. Then he said, “Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.” Jesus answered him, “Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise.”

Vision on April 22, 2013Luke 23:41-43

Jesus hung on the cross, along with two robbers, one on each side of Him. The one robber rebuked the other robber, then said, “Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.”

In His moment of anguish, Jesus gave that robber grace, in His own anguish. That robber acknowledged his own sins, the other robber did not. The one believed in the afterlife, the other did not.

While in agony and pain, Jesus granted the request of the repentant thief, giving him comfort. This gives all believers knowledge, hope, faith, and trust that they too will be saved.

Revelation 2:7Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To the one who is victorious, I will give the right to eat from the tree of life, which is in the paradise of God.”
