ARMOR OF LIGHT

Romans 13:12 “The night is nearly over; the day is almost here. So let us put aside the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light.”**

** GOD OF LIGHT: John 3:19-21 “This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved the darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed. But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what he has done has been done through God.”

The Scene: A breastplate of armor of the Roman era, circa Jesus’ earthly ministry, representing the breastplate of righteousness–*

*NOTE: The armor was intended in its day to protect the wearer from a frontal attack only–it was understood that the wearer was to face the enemy, not turn  his back to the enemy. He was to stand firm and be of good courage.

Ephesians 6:14 ” Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace.”

The Christian, therefore, is to understand that the battle (spiritual) is the Lord Jesus Christ’s battle.

Each morning God’s children need to pray to the God of Light, Jesus, for His protection and guidance. When we do this it’s like putting on His whole armor of light to guide us. When we put on the whole armor of God we have Jesus in us. (For complete understanding of the whole armor Read Romans 13:10-20 and Ephesians 6:16-18.)
