UNSTOPPABLE

Mark 13:31 “Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.”

The Scene: A representation of a tidal wave* descending upon a city. The city symbolizes the whole world.   * A very large ocean wave, caused by an underwater earthquake or volcano eruption.–(The American Heritage College Dictionary; 3rd edition,1993)

A tidal wave, or tsunami, headed toward shore is unstoppable. A very disruptive force, capable of going 500 mph, 100 feet high!

The Lord’s Spirit is like a tidal wave to this planet in that the work and Word of the Holy Spirit is unstoppable:  the Spirit’s work is the Word of God to humanity.

Hebrews 4:12 “For the Word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.”

John 1:1-2 “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.  He was with God in the beginning.”

5-84 GOD’S POWERFUL WORD

LIGHT OF THE WORLD

John 8:12 ”  When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, ‘I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.’ ”

The Scene: A very large candle; many stories high rose out of the ground, getting brighter and brighter as it grew upward. Also in this scene are three birds overlooking the site representing the Trinity: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit.

We are to keep our eyes on the one true light of the world, Jesus our Lord and Savior.

2 Corinthians 4:6 “For God, who said, ‘Let light shine out of darkness, made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ.”

Without this light we cannot know the truth nor follow the true way of holiness.

Isaiah 35:8 ” And a highway will be there; it will be called the Way of Holiness. The unclean will not journey on it; it will be for those who walk in that Way; wicked fools will not go about on it.”

5-83 THE LIGHT

THEY WILL HUNGER

Luke 6:21 ” ‘Blessed are you who hunger now, for you will be satisfied. Blessed are you who weep now, for you will laugh.’ ”

The Scene: The swarming fish came to the surface of the pond looking for food, symbolic of Christians who are born again and have a hunger for God’s Word.

Jesus said to the fishermen, Peter and Andrew, who later became apostles of Jesus, “I will make you fishers of men.”  See Mark 1:17. Jesus knew the people had a hunger for the Word of God and that He needed men who would feed the people His Word, after He had gone back to heaven, after His resurrection.

When people become believers in Jesus the Christ of Nazareth, they are given a hunger for God’s Word, by the Holy Spirit. With that desire for the Word comes a hunger for righteousness.

Hosea 10:12 “Sow for yourselves righteousness, reap the fruit of unfailing love, break up your unplowed ground; for it is time to seek the Lord, until he comes and showers righteousness on you.”

Seek Him through His Holy Word, the Bible,  which is food for the soul.

5-82 THE WORD

IN HIS ARMS

Isaiah 40:11 “He tends his flock like a shepherd: He gathers the lambs in his arms and carries them close to his heart; he gently leads those that have young.”

The Scene: A scene following a post sermon hymn of the above Scripture.

The Lord assures each one in His flock that He protects them from the enemy, Satan. He is their Shepherd and they are His flock–all who believe in Him as the Son of God and our Savior. He will not lose one of those whom the Father has given to Him.

John 6:37-40 ” ‘All that the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never drive away. For I have come down from heaven not to do my will but to do the will of him who sent me. And this is the will of him who sent me that I shall lose none of all that he has given me, but raise them up at the last day. For my Father’s will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in him shall have eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day.’ ”

John 10:10, 14-15 ” ‘The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. V.14-15I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me–Just as the Father knows me and I know the Father–and I lay down my life for the sheep.’ ”

5-81 SHEPHERD

TONGUES OF FIRE

Acts 2:1-3 ” When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place. Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each one of them.”

The Scene: A representation of the separation of the tongues of fire coming from the flame of the Holy Spirit ascending upon the Church (body of believers in Jesus Christ, Son of God, Savior).

The Holy Spirit is shown in the above Scripture as “wind” indicating His presence and as fire, an indication of the Spirit as “purifier”.

Malachi 3:2-3a “But who can endure the day of his coming? Who can stand when he appears? For he will be like a refiner’s fire or a launderer’s soap. He will sit as a refiner and purifier of silver; he will purify the Levites and refine them like gold and silver.”

The Church was not fearful at the presence of the Holy Spirit, but in awe. The Holy Spirit enters each person, purifies them, living in them, His holy temple, a holy place.

1 Corinthians 3:16-17 ” Don’t you know that you yourselves are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit lives in you? If anyone destroys God’s temple, God will destroy him; for God’s temple is sacred, and you are that temple.”

HE WHO IS AGAINST ME

John 13:18 ” ‘I am not referring to all of you; I know those I have chosen. But this is to fulfill the Scripture: ‘He who shares my bread has lifted up his heel against me.’ ”

The Scene: The foot and heel of a man representing Satan and a loaf of bread–Jesus as the Bread of Life.

John 6:33 ” ‘For the bread of God is he who comes down from heaven and gives life to the world.’ ”

All life comes from God the Father. Life eternal is given by God’s Son, Jesus Christ, Savior of the world.

John 6:51 ” ‘ I am the living bread that came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever. This bread is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.’ ”

Satan tried his best to kill and destroy Jesus by having Him nailed to a cross to die.  But the enemy of God failed. In three days, Jesus was alive again and is, forevermore. Hallelujah! Maranatha, come, Lord Jesus.

5-79 JESUS, BREAD OF LIFE

HIS EXCELLENT WORD

2 Timothy 2:15 “Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth.”

The Scene: A hand-cut stone foundation, for a structure is being laid down in place– straight, plumb, square.

A Christian song written by Michael Hayden in 1822, “How Firm a Foundation”  “How firm a foundation ye saints of the Lord, is laid for your faith in His excellent Word!” So goes this hymn– God gave His Word to His people, so that what they believe and have faith in is true to His Word.

There are many people who lack this God-given foundation and who spread false teachings and lies to others, for their own purposes. Their victims are people who are unsaved or untrained in God’s Word, immature persons. All will one day be judged rightly by God, so it is very important to get His Word firmly planted  in our minds and hearts, correctly, which only comes through reading, hearing, studying His revelation, His Word the Holy Bible.

2 Timothy 2:16 & 19 “Avoid godless chatter, because those who indulge in it will become more and more ungodly. Their teaching will spread like gangrene.  v.19 “Nevertheless, God’s solid foundation stands firm, sealed with this inscription: ‘The Lord knows those who are his,’ and, ‘Everyone who confesses the name of the Lord must turn away from wickedness.’ ”

5-77 FIRM FOUNDATION

SILVER AND GOLD

1Peter 1:18-19 “For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your forefathers, but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect.”

The Scene: Gold bars–representation of the world’s wealth.

The world’s financial system measures wealth in silver and gold. Father God values us, His children, more than silver or gold. For we know the world’s wealth will perish, but those who belong to our God and King, Jesus Christ, will not perish, but will have eternal life forever in heaven  with Him.  Matthew 6:24  “No one can serve two masters.  Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other.  You cannot serve both God and money.”

Revelation 18:11,17 “The merchants of the earth will weep and mourn over her because no one buys their cargoes any more–cargoes of gold, silver, precious stones and pearls; fine linen, purple, silk and scarlet cloth; every sort of citron wood, and articles of every kind made of ivory, costly wood, bronze, iron and marble. v. 17 In one hour such great wealth has been brought to ruin! ‘Every sea captain, and all who travel by ship, the sailors, and all who earn their living from the sea, will stand far off.’ ”

But the wealth of Christians will be stored in their heavenly homes awaiting their forever rewards, if tithes and offerings have been sent ahead.  (See Malachi 3:10 )
