GIFTS FROM GOD

Lamentations 3:22 ” Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassion never fails.” (v.23) ” They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness, I say to myself, the Lord is my portion; therefore I will wait for him.”

A basket full of fruit represents a gift from God; He gives us everything we need, especially His Son, Jesus Christ. He gives of Himself.

The Lord is good, His mercy abounds us every day. Be thankful.

Ephesians 5:8-9 ” For you were once darkness, but now you are light for the fruit of the light consists in all goodness, righteousness and truth”

PEACE LIKE A RIVER

John 14:27 ” Peace I leave with you; My peace I give you. I do not  give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.”

The Scene: 1) RIVER: Represents living water, the living Word of God;

2) ISLAND: Located in the middle of the river gives protection to the Church;

3) CHURCH: Represents God’s people;

4) STONES:  Seven rocks that represent the way to Jesus; requires passing through the Living Water, the Word. The number seven is the biblical number for completion and perfection.

God’s people can find peace, when trouble is all around, by coming to the place where they can hear from God. making it harder for  the enemy (Satan) to reach them. It is then that Christians can truly have peace like a river, that passes all understanding.

Colossians 3:15 ” Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace.”

SO THAT THEY WILL KNOW

Isaiah 41:19-20  “I will put in the desert the cedar and acacia, the myrtle and the olive. I will set pines in the wastelands, the fir and the cypress together, so that the people (Israel) will know, may consider, understand, that the hand of the Lord has done this, that the Holy One of Israel has created it.”

Father God wanted His chosen people to know (to believe) that He would always be there for them. In the above scriptures God, in order to show that He had heard their cries for help, said He will provide a sign to help guide them through their wilderness experiences, just  like He provided the pillar and cloud for His people when He led them from bondage in Egypt.

The Scene:

1) Tall cedar trees representing God’s people standing tall;

2) Blue sky represents the presence of royalty (God’s kingdom).

3)Desert represents a fallen world lost without Jesus (no living water to refresh the land).  The pine/cedars were prized wood used to build the temple and were very useful.

1 Kings 5:6a  “So give orders that the cedars of Lebanon be cut for me.  My men will work with yours, and I will pay you for your men whatever wages you set.”  Solomon wanted the trees for building God’s temple in Jerusalem to be built  the way God wanted it erected.

Hebrews 4:16  “Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.”

Matthew 5:3-10: The Beatitudes

A magnetic compass is a relative device, because it does not point to “true north”. Depending on where the compass is located (how far north or south) it points in different directions, generally northward, but not true north.  Iniquity can almost point to true north, but is off, like sin in the human soul.

The Scene: God created the heavens:  they give us direction.  Note that He made both the Little Dipper and the Big Dipper so that they point to the North Star.   In the southern hemisphere is the Southern Cross that points to the southernmost point, over the South Pole.

God’s people are called to stay “on point” to follow God’s Word (TRUTH).

The worldview “relativism” is a  skewing of truth. Calibration (resetting) of manmade compasses is required sometimes and are reset to manmade standards.  God’s standards are fixed; man’s standards are relative and change based on man’s feelings, emotion, thoughts, philosophy, worldview, ever changing.  Hebrews13:8 ” Jesus Christ the same, yesterday, today and forever.”

REVELATION OF DIVINE MYSTERY

2 Corinthians 4:6 ” For God, who said, ” Let the light shine out of darkness,” made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ.”

Mankind throughout history has pursued, with his own mind, 1) enlightenment, 2) knowledge and 3)  glory, But only through Christ have His children gained all three.

Luke 24:45 ” Then he (Jesus) opened up there minds so they could understand the scriptures.”

Genesis 1:3 ” And God said,” Let there be light and there was light.”

Acts 13:4 ” For this is what the Lord commanded us; I have made you a light for the Gentiles, that you may bring salvation to the ends of the earth.”

BE HOLY,AS I AM HOLY

Romans 11:16 ” For if the first fruits be holy (Jesus), the lump is also holy: And if the root be holy, so are the branches (Christians).”

God’s Word tells us that our heavenly Father appeared at His holy mountain, Sinai, in the cloud.

Exodus 24:16  “And the glory of the Lord settled on Mr. Sinai.  For six days the cloud covered the mountain, and on the seventh day God called Moses from within the cloud.”

Ephesians 1:4  “For He chose us in Him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in His sight.”

GOD’S MIGHTY HAND

1 Peter 5:6 ” Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due (proper) time.”                                                                                                                            With strong arms, a trusty bow and sharp arrows, the mighty armies of that day could not  stand under the power of our mighty God.  Nothing can stand that He alone does not desire. But He says to His people “Stand and be courageous”, and see what the mighty hand of the Lord can do.

1 Corinthians 16:13 ” Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be men of courage; be strong. Do everything in love.”

NO JESUS NO PEACE                                                                                                                       Colossians 3:15 ” Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace.  And be thankful.”

Isaiah 48:18 ” If only you had paid attention to my commands, your peace would have been like a river, your righteousness like the waves of the sea.

A river brings life to all along its path to the sea. God’s people are to be living water to others representing the living God that lives inside of us.

The Scene: 1)The sun: coming up over the mountains; Representing God’s promises  are new every morning. Great is His faithfulness. 2) The mountains: Representing God’s might and majesty. 3) The river: Living water; Representing God’s living Word. And the Word was with God and was God…4) Living things: around the river: Life flourishes around the river, The river allows the life God has given and sustains every living thing. “I have come that you may have life abundantly.. from John 10:10 5) Three birds high in the sky representing the Trinity, watching over all.

Find peace through Jesus Christ.
