CHOSEN ONE

Haggai 2:23 “On that day, declares the Lord Almighty, ‘I will take you, my servant Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel,’ declares the Lord, ‘and I will make you like my signet ring, for I have chosen you,’ declares the Lord Almighty.”

“I am the vine, you are the branches,” Jesus said. We true believers have been grafted into him. We are heirs of Jesus Christ, the Son of God. Like Zerubbabel, we have been chosen.

The Scene: The signet ring has long been a symbol of authority. When given to someone else, the signet ring was a sign to others that the one who received and wore the ring was chosen for special recognition and honors.

Psalm 4:3  Know that the Lord has set apart the godly for himself; the Lord will hear when I call to him.

Ephesians 1:4  For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love he predestined us to be adopted as his sons through Jesus Christ in accordance with his pleasure and will.

                               A GIFT FROM GOD

Ephesians 2:8-9  For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith–and this not from ourselves, it is the gift of God– not by works, so that no one can boast.

Through his Son, Jesus, Father God gave us eternal life.

The scene: A gift from God–wrapped in blue paper and gold ribbon–the colors of royalty with purple background, around the gift representing the indwelling of the Holy Spirit.

One God, one gift from God, Jesus. His people are one with him.

Ephesians 1:4 For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love he predestined us to be adopted as his sons through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will–

God’s love is immutable–that is, not subject to change.

Romans 11:29  For God’s gifts and calling are irrevocable.

Everyone can claim their salvation through Jesus the Christ of Nazareth.

For those who have been saved, we have the opportunity to do His will, to give God praise and worship and help bring in his kingdom. Each saved person can tell other people, who want to hear it, their salvation story.  And then be prepared to lead someone who is ready to the Lord and present them with the “sinner’s prayer”.

Romans 5:17  For if, by the trespass of the one man, death reigned through that one man, how much more will those who receive God’s abundant provision of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man, Jesus Christ.

THE GOD OF GLORY THUNDERS

Psalm 29:3-4 “The voice of the Lord is over the waters; the God of glory thunders over the mighty waters. The voice of the Lord is powerful; the voice of the Lord is majestic.”

The Scene: A waterfall representing the living Word of our God, that thunders throughout the world.

Ezekiel 43:1-2 ” Then the man brought me to the gate facing east, and I saw the glory of the God of Israel coming from the east. His voice was like the roar of rushing waters and the land was radiant with his glory.”

To some, His voice is but a wee small voice whispering to them because they know His voice. They listen and do what He says. To others, who try to run away from God, His voice is booming,  like a roaring river, trying to get their attention, to listen to Him, because He loves them.

Psalm 46:10 “Be still and know that I am God.”
