Getting to know God better through visions

ALIVE TO CHRIST

ALIVE TO CHRIST

Romans 6:18 “You have been set free from sin and have become slaves to righteousness.”

The Scene: Grave marker/headstone reading “Dead to Sin” and a rising spirit representing being alive to Christ; three birds off in the distance symbolic of the holy trinity: God the Father, Jesus Christ His only-begotten Son, God the Holy Spirit.

Romans 6:5 “If we have been united* with him like this in his death, we will certainly also be united with him in his resurrection.” *United/fused, as in welded together.

Romans 6:7 “Because anyone who has died has been freed from sin.”

The flesh has died–and for the born-again Christian the new man has emerged.

Romans 6:10-11 ” The death he died, he died to sin once for all; but the life he lives, he lives to God. In the same way, count yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus.”

I Peter 2:24 ” He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; by his wounds you have been healed.”

For complete understanding read Romans 6:1-14

6-35 DEAD TO SIN

TOGETHER

TOGETHER

Psalm 107:32 “Let them exalt him in the assembly of the people and praise him in the council of the elders.”

The Scene: A garden of different kinds of flowers representing God’s born-again children.

Notice the flowers together–individually they are pretty, but together they are beautiful. The same is true for musical instruments: each one’s sound is unique, but together in harmony they make the best music. God’s people are the same way. The body of Christ is best together when following the unity of the Holy Spirit.

Hebrews 13:15 “Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise–the fruit of lips that confess his name.”

1 Peter 2:9 “But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.”

6-26 PRAISE

LOST AND FOUND

LOST AND FOUND

Luke 15:24, 32 “For this son of mine was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found. So they began to celebrate. But we had to celebrate and be glad, because this brother of yours was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.”

The Scene: A lost and found sign alongside a gate: spiritually speaking, Jesus is the head of the Lost and Found Department for mankind’s souls and hearts–only He can find us, guide us to the gate of salvation (He is the gate that leads to salvation).

John 10:9 “I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved. He will come in and go out, and find pasture.”

John 14:6-7 “Jesus answered, ‘I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. If you really knew me, you would know my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and have seen him.’ “

6-25 SALVATION

SPIRITUAL FOOD

SPIRITUAL FOOD

Psalm119:103 “How sweet are your words to my taste, sweeter than honey to my mouth!”

The Scene: A platter of your favorite cookies–full of sweetness and enjoyment. The cookies represent wisdom from the Father above. Words of wisdom from above are like a platter of cookies to our God-given spirits.

James 3:17-18 “But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere. Peacemakers who sow in peace raise a harvest of righteousness.”

James 1:5 “If any of you lack wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him.”

Proverbs 3:13-14 “Blessed is the man who finds wisdom, the man who gains understanding, for she is more profitable than silver and yields better than returns than gold. She is more precious than rubies; nothing you desire can compare with her.”

6-24 WISDOM

SELF

SELF

Ephesians 5:17 “Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is.”

The Scene: A great monolith with the word SE-L-F cast in the stone. Listening to God instead of our fleshly wisdom will bring a blessing. The message is made clear by the Scripture below.

Proverbs 3:5-6 “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding: in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your path straight.”

* The monolith of SELF: Our own understanding is like a stone compared to God’s wisdom.

Proverbs 4:7 “Wisdom is supreme; therefore get wisdom. Though it costs all you have, get understanding.”

James 1:5 “If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him.”

6-23 WISDOM

IN THE MORNING

IN THE MORNING

Psalm 143:8 “Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in you. Show me the way I should go, for to you I lift up my soul.”

The Scene: Steaming cup of hot liquid drink: coffee, tea, etc.–refreshing on a cold morning which can represent God’s loving provision in the new day.

“My Word first thing in the morning is like a fresh cup of coffee or tea to your mind and spirit. So jump start your day with Me,” the Holy Spirit quickened to this author.

Psalm 90:14 “Satisfy us in the morning with your unfailing love, that we may sing for joy and be glad all our days.”

Romans 10:9 “That if you confess with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.”

2 Timothy 3:1617 “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.”

So, be prepared for each day as you read His Word.

6-22 THE WORD

LET YOUR LIGHT SHINE II

LET YOUR LIGHT SHINE II

Matthew 5:14-16 “You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.”

The Scene: A pole with three lamps–representing the Trinity: Father, Son & Holy Spirit.

God’s children have the light of God within them to shine out into a dark world. God’s children are called to be salt and light.

Ephesians 5:8 “For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light, for the fruit of the light consists in all goodness, righteousness and truth.”

Mark 9:50 “Salt is good, but if it loses its saltiness, how can you make it salty again? Have salt in yourselves, and be at peace with each other.”

Romans 8:1-2 ,4 “Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit of life set me free from the law of sin and death. For what the law was powerless to do in that it was weakened by the sinful nature, God did by sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful man to be a sin offering. And so he condemned sin in sinful man, in order that the righteous requirements of the law might be fully met in us, who do not live according to the sinful nature but according to the Spirit.”

6-20 LIGHT

REFINED LIKE GOLD

REFINED LIKE GOLD

Job 23:10 ” But he knows the way that I take; when he has tested me, I will come forth as gold.”

The Scene: A very hot reservoir heated from underneath filled with molten gold, the dross floating on the top and evaporating.

We go through many trials and we Christians are tested. We come through these tests and trials for the better, maturing in our faith in Jesus, our help in time of need.

Psalm 66:10 ” For you, O God, tested us; you refined us like silver.”

Isaiah 48:10 ” See, I have refined you, though not as silver; I have tested you in the furnace of affliction.”

6-17 TESTED

DIVINE DELIVERY

DIVINE DELIVERY

2 Samuel 22:2-3 “The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation. He is my stronghold, my refuge and my savior–from violent men you save me.”

The Scene: A large emergency-looking vehicle representing our Savior, Jesus the Christ of Nazareth, painted yellow as in “the light of the world.” And a large white cross for purity.

Our God is “a just in time” God. When we are lost, sometimes in deep despair, He, through His Holy Spirit, arrives to save us (many times from ourselves).

Psalm 34: 4 “I sought the Lord, and he answered me; He delivered me from all my fears.”

Psalm37:39-40 “The salvation of the righteous comes from the Lord; he is their stronghold in time of trouble. The Lord helps them and delivers them; he delivers them from the wicked and saves them, because they take refuge in him.”

He is our mighty and strong deliverer!

6-18 OUR DELIVERER

ALWAYS WITH US

ALWAYS WITH US

Psalm 145:18-21” The LORD is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth. He fulfills the desires of those who fear him; he hears their cry and saves them. The Lord watches over all who love him, but all the wicked he will destroy. My mouth will speak in praise of the Lord. Let every creature praise his holy name for ever and ever.”

The Scene: A large city in the USA, many tall buildings looking like a metropolitan skyline. If one were looking down from the top of one of these tall buildings the many people below would be seen as if they were ants crawling along the ground. But the following Psalm 139, written by King David, shows us how our heavenly Father, seated on His throne in heaven, sees us in His perfect, loving care.

Psalm 139:1-10 “O Lord, you have searched me and you know me. You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar. You discern my going out and my lying down; you are familiar with all my ways. Before a word is on my tongue you know it completely, O Lord. You hem me in–behind and before; you have laid your hand upon me. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too lofty for me to attain. Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence? If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there. If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea, even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast.”
