FEAR THE LORD

Isaiah 50:10 “Who among you fears the Lord and obeys the word of of his servant? Let him who walks in the dark, who has no light, trust in the name of the Lord and rely on his God.”

The Scene: Symbolic of a person who is walking out his life–sometimes with the aid of the light and other times in darkness and a beacon representing the Lord Jesus Christ. In the background is the Light of God shining on the person traveling his life’s path while he stays in the light of the Word of God.

John 12:35-36,46 “Then Jesus told them, ‘You are going to have the light just a little while longer. Walk while you have the light, before darkness overtakes you. The man who walks in the dark does not know where he is going. Put your trust in the light while you have it, so that you may become sons of light. I have come into the world as a light, so that no one who believes in me should stay in darkness.’ “

Studying God’s Word can keep us in His light, spiritually speaking, as long a we follow God’s precepts, commands for our lives (right living). We can trust in His direction to keep ourselves in His light.

Psalm 119:105 “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path.”

5-191 LIGHTED PATH FOR LIFE

THE END IS NEAR

THE END IS NEAR

Matthew 4:17 ” From that time on Jesus began to preach, ‘Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is near.’ ”

The Scene: A clock–the time of midnight is approaching.

Mankind does not know how short time is (the end of time). So stay rooted in God’s Word and do what it says. “Be steadfast in doing good,” said the Holy Spirit.

Psalm 90:12 “Teach us to number our days aright, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.”

Colossians 4:5 “Be wise in the way you act toward outsiders; make the most of every opportunity.”

Psalm 39:5 ” You have made my days a mere handbreath; the span of my years is nothing before you. Each man’s life is but a breath.”

5-190 THE END

DIVINE PROTECTION III

DIVINE PROTECTION III

Exodus 15:27 ” Then they came to Elim,* where there were 12 springs and 70 palm trees, and they camped there near the water.” *Elim means trees.

The Scene: An oasis with several (12) spring waters bubbling up and many (70) palm trees shading the area, and other flora around the pool of water. (See Exodus 16 for further study.)

God gives us divine protection as believers in Jesus Christ, just as He gave the Israelites, when fleeing from Pharaoh and his army in Egypt. It was at Elim (trees) that God met their needs for water and for food giving them protection from their surroundings. The Israelites camped nearby the oasis at Elim, providing shade, comfort, and food, including manna (bread) and quail. Even though the Israelites continued to grumble and blame Moses for lack of their wants, God met their needs. How much more will He do for us, if we listen to what he says and follow His Word? James 1:22 “Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.”

We can pray to our gracious, generous God, thanking Him for our many blessings, for our families, our nation, and we can ask for continued blessings, when we follow His commands.

Romans 12:12 “Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.”

5-187 PROTECTION

SEVEN TRUMPETS

SEVEN TRUMPETS

Revelations 8:2 “And I saw the seven angels who stand before God, and to them were given seven trumpets.”

The Scene: Seven trumpets shown to honor Father God. Like the seven trumpets, God’s saints (the Church) are called to give Father God praise, glory, and honor.

Psalm 47:5-6 “God has ascended amid shouts of joy, the Lord amid the sounding of trumpets. Sing praises to God, sing praises; sing praises to our King, sing praises.” God loves to hear the praises of His people–give Him all praise due His Name!

Psalm 98:5-6 ” Make music to the Lord with the harp and the sound of singing, with trumpets and the blast of the ram’s horn–shout for joy before the Lord, the King.”

Hebrews 13:15-16 “Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise–the fruit of lips that confess his name. And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased.”

In good times and bad times we are called to give praises to our God.

5-186 PRAISE TO GOD

CRYSTAL CLEAR

Revelation 7:17 “For the Lamb at the center of the throne will be their shepherd; he will lead them to springs of living water. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.”

The Scene: Two pitchers of water; left pitcher full of murky dark water, represents worldly, sinful people. The right pitcher is the same pitcher, but now being filled with God’s living water, changing the murky water to crystal clear water, representing of the former sinful person being filled with the Holy Spirit ( a sign of regeneration* and sanctification). Beside the two pitchers is a symbolic picture of the living water(River of Water of Life) flowing from the throne of heaven.

* regeneration: a new creation, born-again, a change in a person’s spiritual nature.

(See 2 Corinthians 5:17-21) sanctification: the work of God developing each newly-born person’s life, bringing it to perfection–changed from a life of sin to a life in Jesus Christ. (See 1 Peter 2 and Revelation 22:1)

Revelation 21:6-7 “He said to me: ‘It is done. I am the Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the End. To him who is thirsty I will give to drink without cost from the spring of the water of life. He who overcomes will inherit all this, and I will be his God and he will be my son.’ “

5-185 LIVING WATER

BE NOT ENTANGLED

BE NOT ENTANGLED

Hebrews 12:1-2 “Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.”

The Scene: Rolls of barbed wire stretched out along the ground as a trap/ensnarement.

Many times God’s people entangle themselves in entrapments of their own making (sin) created by their own words and deeds.

God’s children can help themselves by listening to the voice of the Holy Spirit and reading the the Holy Scriptures, doing what Jesus Christ says is the right way to live.

James 1:22, 25 “Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. But the man who looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues to do this, not forgetting what he has heard, but doing it–he will be blessed in what he does.”

5-184 SIN

GOD’S LOVE

GOD’S LOVE

1 John 4:19 “We love because he first loved us.”

The Scene: A Valentine’s Day type heart–God’s love.

The Word says, He loved us first. The world would be without love (agape* love) if it weren’t for the love of God, shown in His creation (mankind). Without God’s love there would be no salvation, no Jesus Christ, no Savior. Mankind, being unrepentant, would be lost forever. And God knows our hearts and He loves us, like a Father. Therefore, we have a Savior to enable us to live in His perfect love.

1 John4:15-18,21 ” If anyone acknowledges that Jesus is the Son of God, God lives in him and he in God. And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in him. In this way, love is made complete among us so that we will have confidence on the day of judgment, because in this world we are like him. There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love. And he has given us this command: Whoever loves God must also love his brother.”

Agape (ancient Greek) is a Greco-Christian term referring to love, “the highest form of love, charity” and “the love of God for man and of man for God.: Agape also means unconditional love which means that you love someone without expecting anything in return. Source: Wikipedia

5-185 GOD’S LOVE

ALL IS WELL

ALL IS WELL

Mark 10:51-52 “What do you want me to do for you?” Jesus asked him. The blind man said, “Rabbi, I want to see.” “Go,” said Jesus, “Your faith has healed you.” Immediately he received his sight and and followed Jesus along the road.

The Scene: Overcast sky, a symbol of spiritual darkness like an illness within oneself, with the sun (the sign of Jesus’ healing power) and it’s light coming out from behind the cloud.

The power of prayer has been given to Jesus’ flock by the Holy Spirit to drive out/away spirits of heaviness/darkness–to dispel their power. The rays of the sun are presented as our hope being restored. God knows our troubles/problems and He cares for us.

Psalm 25:17-18 “The troubles of my heart have multiplied; free me from my anguish. Look upon my affliction and my distress and take away all my sin.”

Psalm 25:6,20 “Remember, O Lord, your great mercy and love, for they are from of old. Guard my life and rescue me; let me not be put to shame, for I take refuge in you.”

5-184 OVERCOMING DISPARE

CUP OF WATER

CUP OF WATER

John 4:7,9-10 “When a Samaritan woman came to draw water, Jesus said to her, ‘Will you give me a drink?’ The Samaritan woman said to him, ‘You are a Jew and I am a Samaritan woman. How can you ask me for a drink?’ (For Jews do not associate with Samaritans.) Jesus answered her, ‘If you knew the gift of God and who it is that asks you for a drink, you would have asked him and he would have given you living water.’ ”

The Scene: A cup for water/a Holy Communion cup for wine (or grape juice) and purple mist in the background representing the presence of the Holy Spirit.

Mark 9:41 “I tell you the truth, anyone who gives you a cup of water in my name because you belong to Christ will certainly not lose his reward.”

Galatians 6:9-10 “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.”

Jesus told us (Christians) if we had drank from His cup, the Holy Communion cup, we then are to offer the water cup (representing help to other Christians in need). We are called to a life of service.

Mark 10:43-45 “Not so with you. Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be slave of all. For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”

5-183 SERVICE

GOD’S TREES

GOD’S TREES

Matthew 12:33 “Make a tree good and its fruit will be good, or make a tree bad and its fruit will be bad, for a tree is recognized by its fruit.”

The Scene: A fruit tree in full bloom, ready for harvesting. In the sky 3 birds symbolic of the Trinity: Father, Son and Holy Spirit watching over God’s creation.

Matthew 13:8 “Still other seed fell on good soil, where it produced a crop–a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown.”

The Holy Spirit has been sown in Father God’s people, believers in Jess Christ, the only Son of God, our Savior–as such we have been given ears to hear the voice of the Holy Spirit within us.

Matthew 11:15 “He who has ears, let him hear.”

1 Peter 2:9 “But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.”

Psalm139:13-14 “For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.”

We are God’s people who are capable of bearing good fruit, when we listen to the voice of the Holy Spirit.

Galatians 5:22-23 “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.”

5-182 FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT
