IN THE SHADOW OF THE ALMIGHTY

IN THE SHADOW OF THE ALMIGHTY.jpg

IN THE SHADOW OF THE ALMIGHTY

Psalm 91:1,4 ” He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.”

God will not fail those who love Him and are called unto His purpose. (Romans 8:28). God keeps His word.

The Scene: The Cross and Holy Spirit’s winged shadow, extending from the cross arms.

God’s people have God’s favor.

Psalm 90:17 “May the favor of the Lord our God rest upon us; establish the work of our hands for us–yes, establish the work of our hands.”

Psalm 36:7 “How priceless is your unfailing love!  Both high and low among men find refuge in the shadow of your wings.”

I AM NEAR

                                 I AM NEAR

Matthew 1:23 “The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son and they will call him ‘Immanuel’–which means, ‘God with us.'”

The Scene: representation of Jesus, Immanuel, walking along the seashore.

A  vision given by the Holy Spirit to the writer:  Jesus said, as He walked along the seashore, “Wait but a little while longer.  Remember I am with you always, for I AM Immanuel.  I am the God of Isaac, Abraham and Jacob and all those who choose to follow me and call me Lord, and who will keep my Word.”

1Timothy 1:15,4:10 “Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners–of whom I am the worst… (and for this we labor and strive), that we have put our hope in the living God, who is the Savior of all men, and especially of those who believe.”

HORNS

horns

                                                                HORNS
HORNS.jpgMark 9:1
” And He said to them, ‘I tell you the truth, some who are standing here will not taste death before they see the kingdom of God come with power.”

The Scene: Horns of different kinds are mentioned throughout the Holy Scriptures; horns of many kinds were used to gain the attention of the people for various reasons, such as assembly, festivals, marching to battle, gratitude to God for a victory in battle.

(See examples below)

1 Corinthians 14:8 ” Again, if the trumpet does not sound a clear call, who will get ready for battle.”

Leviticus 23:33“The Lord said to Moses, ‘Say to the Israelites: On the first day of the seventh month you are to have a day of rest, a sacred assembly commemorated with trumpet blasts. This was the Feast of Trumpets.

1 Corinthians 15:51-53 “Listen , I tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed–in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed. For the imperishable must clothe itself with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality.”

Numbers 10:1-4 ” The Lord said to Moses,’Make two trumpets of hammered silver, use them for calling the community together and for having camp set out. When both are sounded the whole community is to assemble before the entrance to the Tent of Meeting. If only one is sounded, the leaders–the heads of the clans of Israel–are to be assembled before you.'”

The two silver trumpets were assembly horns; also, they were to be used as battle horns and after Israel’s victories they were used as memorial to God, for having given them the victory. (See Numbers 5-10)

To the Christians, not just the Jews, these horns have special meanings; Which bring hope of our Lord’s return and of the promises of having an eternal time with Jesus in heaven.

God’s people are listening for those trumpet sounds, looking to that great day when they will rule and reign, during the millennium,  with Him.

DO ALL TO THE GLORY OF GOD

DO IT TO THE GLORY OFGOD.jpg

DO ALL TO THE GLORY OF GOD

1 Corinthians 10:31 “So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.

The Scene: Knitting needles at work.

“In God’s kingdom everything is important to Him,” the Holy Spirit said.

Colossians 3:23-24 “Whatever you do work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men. Since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.

Proverbs 10:4 “Lazy hands make a man poor, but diligent hands bring wealth.”

The Word tells us we are capable of accomplishing much with God’s help.

Philippians 4:13 “I can do everything through him who gives me strength.”

MORE OF JESUS

Image

“More of Jesus, Less of me.”

2 Cor. 5:14-15 “For Christ’s love compels us, because we are convinced that One died for all and therefore all died. And He died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves, but for Him who died for them and was raised again.”

If God’s people are to truly represent God’s love to others, be “Ambassadors for Christ”,2 Cor. 5:20, we must do as Paul said.

Helen H. Lemmel wrote” Turn your eyes upon Jesus“, (a song) “Look full in His wonderful face and the things of earth grow strangely dim, in the light of His Glory and Grace.”

AMBASSADORS FOR CHRIST

Image“We are Ambassadors for Christ!”

John 14:16-17 “And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another counselor- The Spirit of Truth-He lives with you and in you.”

The FLAG has seven stripes: The number 7 is the number of completion in Him.

The COLORS: White: Purity, holiness, resurrection. Red: Fire, The presence of God; Pentecost; The color of the Church; martyrs. Purple: mourning/suffering; Lent/Advent. Blue: royalty

2 Corithians 5:20 We are therefore Christ’s Ambassadors, as though God were making His appeal through us. We implore you in Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God.

We are to remember who we represent at all times.

CHRIST (CHI-RHO)

ImageThe Greek sign of Christ embedded in the rock, “Christ in us the hope of glory.”  Colossians 1:27   The Greek sign of Christ (CHI-RHO), embedded in the rock, “Christ in us the hope of glory.”    Rock is a good foundation from which construction of a structure can begin. Jesus is the Rock upon which we can build our spiritual lives. Solid as a rock is “Christ in us.”  When we accept Him as our Lord and Savior, He will never leave us nor forsake us.

SO GREAT A CLOUD OF WITNESSES 1-6

SO GREAT A CLOUD OF WITNESSES.jpg

Hebrews12:1-2 “Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles and let us run with perseverance (patience KJV), the race marked out for us. Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith.”

The Scene:The witnesses, including many Old Testament faithful men and women who have completed the journey, are now in Heaven.  We too, can know that we will join them one day.

TWO PATHS

Two Paths (2-1-14)Proverbs 4:18 “The path of righteousness is like the first gleam of dawn shining ever brighter till the full light of day.”

God gives people free will. Which path will they follow?

Remember Me (One was left….)

Luke 23:41-43 “We are punished justly, for we are getting what our deeds deserve. But this man has done nothing wrong. Then he said, “Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.” Jesus answered him, “Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise.”

Vision on April 22, 2013Luke 23:41-43

Jesus hung on the cross, along with two robbers, one on each side of Him. The one robber rebuked the other robber, then said, “Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.”

In His moment of anguish, Jesus gave that robber grace, in His own anguish. That robber acknowledged his own sins, the other robber did not. The one believed in the afterlife, the other did not.

While in agony and pain, Jesus granted the request of the repentant thief, giving him comfort. This gives all believers knowledge, hope, faith, and trust that they too will be saved.

Revelation 2:7Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To the one who is victorious, I will give the right to eat from the tree of life, which is in the paradise of God.”
