GOD’S BOOK OF KNOWLEDGE

GOD'S BOOK OF KNOWLEDGE.jpg

GOD’S BOOK OF KNOWLEDGE

Proverbs 2:1-5 “My Son, if you accept my words and store up my commands within you, turning your ear to wisdom and applying your heart to understanding, and if you call out for insight and cry aloud for understanding, and if you look for it as silver and search for it as hidden treasure, then you will understand the fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of God.”

The Scene: God’s complete Book of Knowledge, represented by the Holy Bible.

No other book on earth has all the answers to life’s questions. God’s Word can help us in every situation.

Hosea 4:6b “ My people are destroyed from lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge, I also reject you as my priests; because you have ignored the law of your God.”

We can gain knowledge, wisdom and understanding by reading daily His Holy Word, the Bible.

Romans 11:33-36 DOXOLOGY: “Oh, the depth of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable his judgments, and his paths beyond tracing out! Who has known the mind of the Lord? Or who has been his counselor? Who has ever given to God, that God should repay him? For from him and through him and to him are all things. To him be the glory forever! Amen.”

Psalm 119:105 “ Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path.”

LOVE FOR CHRIST

LOVE FOR CHRIST.jpg

                                               LOVE FOR CHRIST

Song of Solomon: 8:6-7 “Place me like a seal over your heart, like a seal on your arm; for love is as strong as death, its jealousy unyielding as the grave. It burns like blazing fire, like a mighty flame. Many waters cannot quench love; rivers cannot wash it away. If one were to give all the wealth of his house for love, it would be utterly scorned.”

The Scene: Love of the Lord’s seal on the heart, symbolic of God’s heart.

As children of God we long to be in God’s love.

“Let me have a place in thy heart, an interest in thy love. Be though my high priest;  let my name be written on thy breast-plate nearer thy heart. Let thy power be engaged for me, as evidence of thy love to me; let me not only a seal upon thy heart, but a seal upon thy arm; let me be ever borne up in thy arms, and know it to my comfort.” (Matthew Henry’s Commentary- Copyright Zondervan 1961)

Jude 21 “Keep yourselves in God’s love as you wait for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to bring you to eternal life.”

Romans 8:38-39 ” For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

WALK WITH ME

WALK WITH ME.jpg

                                                                     WALK WITH ME

Ephesians 1:4” For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight.”

The Scene: The Lord’s strong right hand holding the hand of a child.

The Lord said, ” I held out my hand to you, you took hold of it, in faith. I will never let you go. Stay humble, keep close to me. Fear not for I am always with you. Fear not.”

Matthew 18:4 “Therefore, whoever humbles himself like this little child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.”

Micah 6:8 “He has shown you, O man, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.”

John 1:12 ” Yet to all who receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God–children born not of natural descent, not of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God.”

Romans 8:16 “The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children. Now if we are children, then we are heirs–heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his suffering in order that we may also share in his glory.”

I AM

                                                                                   I AM

Romans 8:38 “For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

The Scene: A fenced in area: a symbol of separation.

For the Lord our God has said, “I AM that I AM.” (Exodus 3:14) Nothing comes between the Father and His children, neither fence nor wall.

Romans 8:35-37 “Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? As it is written: ‘For your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.’ No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.

THE LORD RETRAINS

THE LORD RETRAINS.jpg

                                                          THE LORD RESTRAINS

Proverbs 12:1 “Whoever loves discipline loves knowledge, but he who hates correction is stupid.”

The Scene: Rope and strap/belt; symbols of implements for restraint.

The Lord gives correction to those He loves, as any loving parent does; God disciplines His children for their own good, as children of God. We are to accept and learn from our errors through the help of the Holy Spirit, the Teacher of the Word.

Proverbs 10:17 “He who heeds discipline shows the way to life, but whoever ignores correction leads others astray.”

Our Father God will do whatever He knows is necessary, to keep His children on the straight and narrow way to salvation.

Psalm 74:12 “ But you, O God are my king from of old; you bring salvation upon the earth.”

Hebrews 12:5b-6 “ …my son do not make light of the Lord’s discipline, and do not lose heart when he rebukes you, because the Lord disciplines those he loves, and punishes everyone he accepts as a son.”

True love from a father must include tough love for his own children. And that is how we know we are His and He is our heavenly Father.

LOOK FOR YOUR BLESSINGS

LOOK FOR YOUR BLESSINGS.jpg

                                                           LOOK FOR YOUR BLESSINGS

Exodus 23:25 “Worship the Lord your God, and his blessings will be on your food and water. I will take away sickness from among you, and none will miscarry or be barren in your land. I will give you a full life span.”

The Scene: Hands of a prospector panning, sifting sand looking for gold from a stream. Gold can be a symbol of God’s blessings to His children. The stream represents His “living water,” His Word, His promises.

Like a person looking for gold nuggets, the Lord’s children are to seek and find, daily, His blessings. The heavenly Father’s blessings are there for the seeking. When His people find His grace & blessings, they give thanks and praise to Him.

In praising, in lieu of complaining, we will find ourselves more joyful. If God’s children will make a habit of looking for His blessings daily, attitudes will be changed from being negative and depressing to attitudes of joy and peace.

Giving thanks to our Father God and His Son Jesus is pleasing to Them both, as They long for our right relationship with Them. That spiritual relationship can only come by listening to the Holy Spirit and doing what He says.

Ephesians 1:3-6 “Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love he predestined us to be adopted as his sons through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will—to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves.”

JESUS IS LIGHT

JESUS IS LIGHT.jpg

                                                               JESUS IS LIGHT

2 Corinthians 4:6 “ For God who said, ‘Let light shine out of darkness,’ made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ.”

The Scene: The narrow way, an otherwise dark street being illuminated by a tall streetlight, a representation of God’s people, believers in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. God’s people are like street lights, brightly shining in a darkened world.

Jesus’ light shines into our hearts and that light shines out into a dark, sinful world.

1 John 1:5 “ This is the message we have heard from him and declares to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all.”

John 3:19-20 “This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed.”

God’s children have this light given to them through the Holy Spirit. Therefore, it cannot be contained. For they are new creations and the world can see the difference. Many shun the light but some choose to come into the light and are saved by the blood of Jesus Christ.

NUMBER OF DAYS

NUMBERED DAYS.jpg

                                                  NUMBER OF DAYS

Psalm 39:4 “Show me O Lord, my life’s end and the number of my days; let me know how fleeting is my life.”

The Scene: A ticket machine, like one used to determine a place in line– the number 25.500 appears on the next ticket. Seventy years equals 25,500 days.

Our time on earth is limited~~only God knows the exact number of days. We, therefore, are called upon to make the most of our days, living for God’s kingdom.

Psalm 90:10,12 “The length of our days is seventy years—or eighty, if we have the strength; yet their span is but trouble and sorrow, for they quickly pass, and we fly away. Teach us to number our days aright, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.”

We are called to study and learn from God’s Word, gaining in His knowledge and understanding.

2Timothy 3:16 “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness.”

The Greatest Seal

Image2 Corinthians 1:21-22 Now it is God who makes both us (Paul, the Apostles) and you stand firm in Christ. He anointed us, set His seal of ownership on us and put His Spirit in our hearts, as a deposit guaranteeing what is to come. (NIV)

The Seal of the Holy Spirit— To some the U.S.A. Presidential Seal is referred to as, “The Great Seal”.—– said the Holy Spirit.

Yet “The Greatest Seal” is a promise from God to those who accept salvation, change their lives, and try to live for God.”

This seal offers God’s love, faithfulness and mercy.

Ephesians1:13b“Having believed, you were marked in Him with a seal.” (NIV)
