CONSUMING FIRE

CONSUMING FIRE

CONSUMING FIRE

Hebrews 12:29 for our  God is a consuming fire.

A Word from the Lord: “I am like the warmth of a fire in the winter time, to those who follow after Me and love Me.” NOTE: Fire is a symbol of the divine presence, power and cleansing.

Acts 7:30-31 After 40 years had passed, an angel of the Lord appeared to Moses in the flames of a burning bush in the desert near Mount Sinai. When he saw this, he was amazed at the sight.

God,  as a consuming fire, does not allow sin to be near Him. Any sin is burned up–God desires to be near (and in) His people, when they are repentant, filled with the love of Jesus, and the Holy Spirit.

Those who do His will feel the warmth of His love for His children- – our God is a God of passion & compassion. Jesus’ crucifixion, death and resurrection on the third day is our proof of His love for us.

John 19: 25-27 Near the cross of Jesus stood his mother, his mother’s sister, Mary the wife of Clopas and Mary Magdalene. When Jesus saw his mother there, and the disciple whom he loved standing nearby, he said to his mother,” Dear woman, here is your son.” and to the disciple,” Here is your mother.” From that time on, the disciple took her into his home.

Jesus, near death, in one final act of compassion for others, gave instruction in the care of His  mother.
