GOD’S JUDGMENT
Luke 6:31 “Do to others as you would have them do to you.”
The Scene: A scale of justice–symbolic of God’s justice, meaning God’s ways vs. man’s ways (being in the flesh, self-centered and changing of earthly values). God’s ways never change. See Hebrews 13:8
Man’s actions will be weighed and true justice will be done in heaven or hell. The first two Commandments speak of love; love of God, love of neighbor. To love requires forgiveness–the Holy Scriptures tell us that if we want forgiveness from God we must also forgive others: Matthew 19:19.
God is just and righteous. (Read 1 Samuel 24) for better understanding. Here David spared King Saul’s life. King Saul was jealous of David and pursued David to kill him– David, however, with God’s help, had an opportunity to kill Saul but he chose not to kill him. David wanted to be found righteous in Father God’s eyes. David says in Verse 6, “He said to his men, ‘The Lord forbid that I should do such a thing to my master, the Lord’s anointed, or lift my hand against him; for he is the anointed of the Lord.'”
As children of God we, too, are to be like David and choose a better way in our daily lives, as we must interact with mostly worldly people. As Christians we are to have the higher calling of God.
Matthew 7:21 ” Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.”
We must all pass the “good fruit” test. (Read Matthew 7:15-23). Those who bear good fruit and are of the good tree (Jesus the Christ) will have eternal life in heaven. Every tree that does not bear fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire (hell). In the end, the justice of God will be served.
