GO TO THE WELL

GO TO THE WELL

Isaiah 12:3 “With joy you will draw water from the wells of salvation.”

The Scene: A water well–the representation of God’s Word, living water.

Notice the bucket and hand crank which have been provided. The water is there; but each person must draw from the well in his/her own faith that God will provide what He has promised. Action on our part is always required because everything we receive from our heavenly Father is through faith. *

2 Chronicles 7:14 “If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”

*Our Father God is forgiving, full of grace and mercy. However, He requires that we act in His specific ways, pleasing to Him.

James 1:22 “You see that his faith and actions were working together, and his faith was made complete by what he did.” The Scripture refers to Abraham, who was willing to obey God’s directions and to sacrifice his own son, Isaac. He trusted God completely, stepped out in faith, and was rewarded for his obedience. We are required to go to the well, the living Word of our Lord and do what He says. Then, like father Abraham, we also will be rewarded.
