FENCES: SELF-IMPOSED

FENCES:SELF-IMPOSED

Proverbs 16:32 “Better a patient man than a warrior, a man who controls his temper than one who takes a city.”

The Scene: People erect many fences around themselves by the way they live. People whose lives are full of anger lack patience and the fruit of the Holy Spirit, exhibiting just the opposite behavior from that described in Proverbs 16:32.

Galatians 5:22-23 “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.”

Impatient people build fences around themselves that keep them from acting Christ-like and which then hurts their ability to minister to God, to themselves and to others. As the world becomes more and more self-centered we must become more Christ centered, focused on Him.

1 Corinthians 4:20-21 ” For the kingdom of God is not a matter of talk but of power. What do you prefer? Shall I come to you with a whip, or in love and with a gentle spirit?”
