THE BOOK OF THE LAW

THE BOOK OF THE LAW

Galatians 3:10 “All who rely on observing the law are under a curse, for it is written: ‘Cursed is everyone who does not continue to do everything written in the Book of the Law.’ “

The Scene: The Book of the Law (or Torah*)

*Torah: Hebrew for instruction or law comprised of the first five books of Moses.

We are told in the Holy Scriptures to be doers of the Word, “Do not merely listen to the Word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.” (James 1:22)

Jesus came to earth to show himself as the Lawgiver and to lead the way to our salvation.

Romans 13:8-10 “Let no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt to love one another, for he who loves his fellow man has fulfilled the law. The commandments, Do not commit adultery, do not murder, do not steal, do not covet, and whatever other commandment there may be, are summed up in this one rule: love your neighbor as yourself. Love does no harm to its neighbor. Therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.”
