John 1:4-5 “In him was life, and that life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, but the darkness has not understood it.”
The Scene: One large candle on a hill, followed by many smaller candles: a symbolic view of Jesus, as Light of the World and the smaller lights are people who have chosen to follow him (born-again Christians).
John 8:12 “When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, ‘I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.’ “
For the born-again, Spirit-filled Christians, Jesus Christ is our example. We are the temple of the Holy Spirit who can mirror the Light of the World, Jesus. The world can see our lights shine and can be drawn to Him, the Creator of Light, the one and only Eternal Light.”
Matthew 4:16-17 “The people living in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of the shadow of death a light has dawned. From that time on Jesus began to preach, ‘Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is near.’ “
