The Scene: a natural cave–a stronghold

1 Samuel 23:14 “David stayed in the desert strongholds and in the hills of the Desert of Ziph. Day after day Saul searched for him, but God did not give David into his hands.”

Jesus Christ our Lord is our stronghold. We are in Him and He is in us we follow the truth of God’s Word. Jesus is our defender; like David’s cave, Jesus is our provider of protection, when we call upon His mighty name. We can run into Him and be safe from our enemies.

Psalm 125:2 “As the mountains surround Jerusalem, so the Lord surrounds his people both now and forevermore.”

Proverbs 2:8 “For he guards the course of the just and protects the way of his faithful ones.”
