Ecclesiastes 12:11-13 “The words of the wise are like goads, their collected sayings like firmly embed nails–given by one Shepherd. Be warned, my son, of anything in addition to them. Of making many books there is no end, and much study wearies the body.”
The Scene: Many books in a row–representing man’s wisdom and knowledge. Along side is God’s book, His Word, the Holy Bible, which holds His wisdom and knowledge, also His understanding and discernment of all things.
God’s Word tells us what we need to know–all else may be foolishness. For much of man’s knowledge will bring trouble upon himself/others. As we read God’s Word the Holy Spirit can speak to us and answer our questions.
John 6:68 “Simon Peter answered him, ‘Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life. We believe and know that you are the Holy One of God.’ “
God’s book brings us goodness, kindness, love, etc.; right living brings peace to mankind.
John 8:12 “When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, ‘I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.’ “
You will know the truth and the truth will set you free. (See John 8:32)
