1 Chronicles 28:10 “Consider now, for the Lord has chosen you* to build a temple as a sanctuary. Be strong and do the work.” *God chose Solomon to build His temple by appointing him through Israel’s King David because He knew Solomon’s heart. See v.9
1 Chronicles 28:11 “Then David gave his son Solomon the plans for the portico of the temple, its buildings, its storerooms, its upper parts, its inner rooms and the place of atonement.”
The Scene: A portico–covered enclosure with columns. Also shown are doors to the store rooms to the rear of the portico. The columns represent the indicated Holy Scriptures that tell the story of Jesus the Christ of Nazareth, the Son of God, Savior of the world.
The storage areas held the scrolls, the Word of God, delivered to the people through Moses (the Torah) and other items used in the temple.
John 1:1 “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God and the Word was God.”
When the temple for Father God was to be built, the wall and the portico with columns was the first part to be built to store the Torah. And the colonnade itself provided protection from the weather, a refuge.
John 10:22-23 “Then came the Feast of Dedication at Jerusalem. It was winter, and Jesus was in the temple area walking in Solomon’s Colonnade. “
