KEEP YOUR EYES ON JESUS

KEEP YOUR EYES ON JESUS

Hebrews 12:2 “Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. “

The Scene: A sun catcher–a reminder of God’s Son, Jesus. The white cross in the middle of the sun catcher, standing for the purity of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. The purple, blue and scarlet woven fabric represent God’s temple. To enjoy all that heaven has in store for us, we must stay focused on Jesus Christ the only-begotten Son of the Father, full of grace and truth.

Psalm 141:8 “But my eyes are fixed on you, O Sovereign Lord; in you I take refuge–do not give me over to death.”

2 Timothy 4:8 “Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day–and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.”

Life’s race can seem long and full of obstacles that hinder us from reaching the goal–heaven, with Jesus. But we have been assured by God’s Word that He will not let people who have received Him as Savior and Lord to be forsaken. We have the victory in sight as we keep our eyes fixed only on Him.

7-1 FOCUSED LIFE

SAFE HAVEN

SAFE HAVEN

Psalm 27:5-6 “For in the day of trouble he will keep me safe in his dwelling; he will hide me in the shelter of his tabernacle and set me high upon a rock. Then my head will be exalted above the enemies who surround me; at his tabernacle will I sacrifice with shouts of joy; I will sing and make music to the Lord.”

The Scene: A very large, half round covering representing the Lord’s covering ( A safe haven* the Holy Spirit told this author.)

Psalm 27:4 “One thing I ask of the Lord, this is what I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the Lord and to seek him in his temple.”

  • SAFE HAVEN: Safe: Secure from danger, harm or evil, affording a protection
  • haven: a place of refuge or rest; a sanctuary (American Heritage Dictionary; Third edition, copyright 1997,1993 by Houghton Mifflin Co.)

We can be assured, as God’s children, we will be helped through our situations and troubles when we call on the mighty name of Jesus and are trying to keep his commands, as Christians believing in the Word of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, only-begotten Son of Almighty God our heavenly Father.

6-56 SAFE PLACE

PRESS ON TOWARD THE GOAL

PRESS ON TOWARD THE GOAL

Philippians 3:10-14 “I want to know Christ and the power of his resurrrection and the fellowship of sharing in his suffering, becoming like him in his death, and so, somehow, to attain to the resurrection from the dead. Not that I have already attained all this, or have already been made perfect, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.”

The Scene: An olive branch crown–symbol of being victorious.

When God is with us we cannot fail.

Hebrews 12:1 ” Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.”

2 Timothy 4:7-8 “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day–and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.”

As Christians, when we die, we want to hear our names called and hear that we have been good and faithful servants. We put our trust in our God.

Matthew 19: 27-29 “Peter answered him, ‘We have left everything to follow you! What then will there be for us?’ Jesus said to them, ‘I tell you the truth, at the renewal of all things, when the Son of Man sits on his glorious throne, you who have followed me will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel. And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or children or fields for my sake will receive a hundred times as much and will inherit eternal life. ‘ “

6-57 REWARDS

BE FILLED WITH HOPE

BE FILLED WITH HOPE

Psalm 25:3,5 “No one whose hope is in you will ever be put to shame, but they will be put to shame who are treacherous without excuse. Guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long.”

The Scene: A cloud covered sky with a single blue sky opening–a representation of hope in the Lord during this time of your life.

We have God’s promises and truth to hold onto in times of trouble. He is our stronghold and refuge; never let go of His Word and depend on Him always.

1 John 3:2b-3 “But we know that when he appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is. Everyone who has this hope in him purifies himself, just as he is pure.”

1 Peter 1:3-5 ” Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade–kept in heaven for you, who through faith are shielded by God’s power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time.”

6-35 HOPE

LET GO OF YOUR PURSE

LET GO OF YOUR PURSE

Luke 12:32-34 “Do not be afraid, little flock, for your Father has been pleased to give you the kingdom. Sell your possessions and give to the poor. Provide purses for yourselves that will not wear out, a treasure in heaven that will not be exhausted, where no thief comes near and no moth destroys. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”

The Scene: A leather money pouch or purse filled with money and a green mist surrounding the purse representing greed–controlled by a spirit of whoredoms (or greed, which is idolatry).

1 Timothy 6:6,9-10 “But godliness with contentment is great gain. People who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge men into ruin and destruction. For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.”

Saints, pray for the Church. Bind the spirit of whoredoms (Hosea 4:12 KJV) in the name of Jesus; loose the Spirit of God in the name of Jesus for the Church. We are called to be a people of salt and light, called to share with the needy when we have been given more than enough.

Leviticus 25:35 “If one of your countrymen becomes poor and is unable to support himself among you, help him as you would an alien or a temporary resident, so he can continue to live among you.”

6-56 MONEY

ALWAYS WITH US

ALWAYS WITH US

Psalm 125:1 “Those who trust in the Lord are like Mount Zion, which cannot be shaken but endures forever.”

The scene: Represents Mt. Zion–the highest place, on the earth, at the end of time, the end of the ages, the site where God spoke to Moses.

“I AM, and I will always be with you, my people, said the Holy Spirit. “i will be with you to the end, just as Mt. Zion will be left standing. Stand with Me and be courageous, my people, for I AM is faithful.”

Exodus 3:14 “God said to Moses, ‘I AM who I AM. This what you are to say to the Israelites; I AM has sent me to you.’ “

Galatians 5:1 “It is for freedom Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.”

We wait for our Savior’s return to Mt. Zion and continue at every opportunity (God given) to say to the world, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.”

FIRM FOOTING (FOUNDATION)

FIRM FOOTING (FOUNDATION)

Matthew 7:24-25 “Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock.”

The Scene: High-rise buildings, apartments, houses sitting over drilled pier casings, sunk deeply into the ground. Circled numbers as follows: 1) surface, above grade 2) earth, below grade 3) drilled piers, footings extending down to bedrock, deep in the ground + steel casings filled with concrete and structural steel reinforcing rods inside the casings 4) bedrock footing for the drilled piers to rest upon.

Holy Spirit insight: The high-rise buildings would not stand for long without a firm foundation, set upon rock. Our faith cannot last, either, without a firm foundation. (Built on the Rock: Jesus Christ our Lord.)

Ephesians 2:19:22 “Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and aliens, but fellow citizens with God’s people and members of God’s household, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone. In him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple in the Lord. And in him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit.”

Psalm 127:1 “Unless the Lord builds the house, its builders labor in vain. Unless the Lord watches over the city, the watchmen stand guard in vain.”

6-53 STRONG FOUNDATION

ALIVE TO CHRIST(DEAD TO SIN)

ALIVE TO CHRIST

Romans 6:18 “You have been set free from sin and have become slaves to righteousness. “

The Scene: Grave marker (headstone) reading, “Dead to Sin” and a rising spirit representing being “Alive with Christ“. The 3 birds represent the Holy Trinity: Father, Son and Holy Spirit watching the freed man.

Romans 6:5 “If we have been united* with him like this in his death, we will certainly also be united with him in his resurrection.” *United; fused as in welded together.

Romans 6:7 “Because anyone who has died has been freed from sin.” (The flesh has died–and for the born-again Christians the new inner man has emerged!)

Romans 6:10-11 “The death he died, he died to sin once for all; but the life he lives, he lives to God. In the same way, count yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus.”

1 Peter 2:24 “He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; by his wounds you have been healed.”

NOTE: For complete understanding Read Romans 6:1-14

6-33 DEAD TO SIN

LIFE-GIVING WATERS

LIFE-GIVING IMAGES

Isaiah 33:21 “There the Lord will be our Mighty One. It will be like a place of broad rivers and streams. No galley with oars will ride them, no mighty ship will sail them.”

The Scene: Gentle currents–flow of a broad, shallow river with peaceful surroundings.

The Lord promises us peace like a river when we obey Him.

Isaiah 48:18 “If only you had paid attention to my commands, your peace would have been like a river, your righteousness like the waves of the sea.”

When we choose to release our fleshly being to the will of the Holy Spirit, we can find peace and enjoy inner peace in the heart.

Isaiah 46:4 “Even to your old age and gray hairs I am he, I am he who will sustain you. I have made you and I will carry you; I will sustain you and I will rescue you.”

We can trust Him in all circumstances in His time. Psalm 119:165 “Great peace have they who love your law, and nothing will make them stumble.”

6-51 PROTECTION

ROOTS OF BITTERNESS

ROOTS OF BITTERNESS

Hebrews 12:14 ” Make every effort to live in peace with all men and to be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord.”

The Scene: Two doves, their names are Love and Kindness, hovering above the plants . The plants are bitter herbs and bitter roots, that represent hurting people who are bitter and haveheart trouble“, the Holy Spirit said.

Psalm 139:23-24 “Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.”

1 Peter 3:8, 10-13 “Finally, all of you, live in harmony with one another; be sympathetic, love as brothers, be compassionate and humble. For, whoever would love life and see good days must keep his tongue from evil and his lips from deceitful speech. He must turn from evil and do good; he must seek peace and pursue it. For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and his ears are attentive to their prayer, but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil.”
