MAXIMIZE

MAXIMIZE

Hebrews 11:6 “And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly* seek him. *earnestly:  zealously, eagerly, real desire–with steady application and care

The Scene : Symbolic of the sun rising from the East and setting in the West repeatedly–representing many days.

Man’s days on this earth are numbered (limited). We are called to use our days wisely, utilizing Godly wisdom given us by the Holy Spirit, as opposed to using man’s worldly wisdom (flesh) which isn’t really wisdom at all.  James 3:17-18 “But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere.  Peacemakers who sow in peace raise a harvest of righteousness.”

As we seek to follow God’s ways, not our own, we can maximize our heavenly and earth rewards from God.

Daniel 12:3 “Those who are wise will shine like the brightness of the heavens, and those who lead many to righteousness, like the stars for ever and ever.”

SWEPT AWAY

SWEPT AWAY.jpg

SWEPT AWAY

Isaiah 44:22 ” I have swept away your offenses like a cloud, your sins like the morning mist. Return to me, for I have redeemed you.”

The Scene: Many sweepers–a representation of our Lord’s mercy and grace, as He sweeps away our sins, over and over again, for those who have repentant hearts, those who believe in Jesus Christ.  God knows our hearts, attitudes and actions.

Isaiah 1:18-19 ” ‘Come now, let us reason together,’ says the Lord. ‘Though  your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool. If you are willing and obedient, you will eat the best from the land.’ ”

1 John 2:1 “My dear children, I write this to you so that you will not sin.  But if anybody does sin, we have one who speaks to the Father in our defense–Jesus Christ, the Righteous One.”

Acts 13:38 “Therefore, my brothers, I want you to know that through Jesus the forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you.”

GET WISDOM III

GET WISDOM III.jpg

GET WISDOM III

1 Corinthians 8:1b-3 Knowledge puffs up, but love builds up. The man who thinks he knows something does not yet know as he ought to know. But the man who loves God is known by God.”

The Scene: A stack of books looking like a skyscraper that seemingly reaches to the sky–representing all of mankind’s knowledge.

Man’s knowledge and his worldly wisdom hinder him from living out his life without God’s wisdom to guide him.

Ecclesiastes 12:11-12 ” The words of the  wise are like goads, their collected sayings like firmly embedded nails–given by one Shepherd. Be warned, my son, of anything in addition to them. Of making many books there is no end, and much study wearies the body.”

Worldly wisdom & man’s philosophies are the result of worldly book knowledge–such as  evolution theory, accepted by many as fact.  Likewise, those who believe in false religions, cults and worship idols, are studying information that separates them from God.

Get wisdom! Get Godly wisdom! (Read Chapter 2 of Proverbs: The moral benefits of Wisdom.)

James 1:5 ” If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him.”

5-103 WISDOM

BE A FRIEND FOR GOD

                            BE A FRIEND FOR GOD
2 Corinthians 5:20 “We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God.”
The Scene: A contrast: Two pictures within one; looked at as a closeup, the one picture could appear as a “desert” scene–but pull away and view the whole picture from a distance and see a “dessert”, a cupcake:  two similar words with entirely different meanings and spellings.
The main point here is that Christians, those who are born-again, need to be working for God. The desert may appear to be beautiful but can be a very dangerous place. Some say they are Christians, but are really more like the desert. The unsaved person may be attracted to either kind, not knowing the difference between those are working for God and those who are working for themselves, instead.  Let’s be “dessert” Christians, not the other kind.
Isaiah 6:8 ” Then I heard the voice of the Lord say, ‘Whom shall I send?‘ and who will go for us? And I said, ‘Here am I.  Send me! ‘ “
We have to show those who are looking for the Messiah what Jesus Christ and His Father truly are, to help further the kingdom. To accomplish this assignment and to be effective, we must be God-like, filled with Holy Spirit’s wisdom, knowledge, understanding and discernment with Godly love for others.
2 Timothy 2:15 “Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth.”

FIRE FOR EFFECT

FIRE FOR EFFECT.jpg

FIRE FOR EFFECT

James 5:16 “Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.”

The Scene: Representation of guns firing from a battleship–firing several rounds/ volleys, “firing  for effect.  “The “big boomers” continued to fire for a time, as the shells sought their targets and hit, destroying them. The shells represent our prayers.

Cannon fire is directed by an artillery officer/ spotter/director. Likewise, the Holy Spirit compares our prayers, that are directed by God, to be like the cannon fired at our enemy  in the spiritual battle against Satan. He is the master tempter who tries continually to separate us from God.

The Holy Spirit tells us to fire for effect with our prayers. Send many prayers/volleys as necessary to drive off or kill the enemy. Our prayers are to be fervent* and effectual**, God’s Word tells us to be:  *fervent:  earnest, eager, zealous; ** effectual:  having adequate power or force to produce the desired effect.

Holy God gave us His Holy Spirit to provide  the power needed to drive our spiritual enemies away.

Proverbs 15:8 ” The Lord detests the sacrifice of the wicked, but the prayer of the upright pleases him.”

Psalm 86:6-7 “Hear my prayer, O Lord; listen to my cry for mercy. In the day of trouble I will call on you, for you will answer me.”

NIGHT VISION

NIGHT VISION.jpg

NIGHT VISION

2 Corinthians 4:4 ” The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.”

The Scene: A person wearing a pair of night vision glasses.

God’s people have been given the Holy Spirit, who gives us Godly wisdom, knowledge, understanding, and discernment, which act like night vision glasses, to see clearly in a spiritually dark world.

Psalm 18:28b “My God turns my darkness into light.”

The unsaved, non-believers in Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, walk in spiritual darkness.

Psalm 82:5  “They know nothing, they understand nothing. They walk about in darkness; all the foundations of the earth are shaken.”

Ecclesiastes 2:26 “To the man who pleases him, God gives wisdom, knowledge and happiness, but to the sinner he gives the task of gathering and storing wealth up to hand it over to the one who pleases God. This too is meaningless, a chasing after the wind.”

POWER OF THE LORD

POWER OF THE LORD.jpg

POWER OF THE LORD

Psalm 68:34 ”  Proclaim the power of God, whose majesty is over Israel, whose power is in the skies.”

The Scene: The aurora borealis*dancing above the earth–sometimes referred to as northern lights  seen as a type and shadow of the power of the Lord, explained the Holy Spirit. *caused by an ejection of charged particles from our sun into the magnetic field of the earth.

Christians, who are made in the image of God, have been given power through the Holy Spirit to do many wonders for our God. We perform works for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ through the Holy Spirit He has given us to dwell within.  Ephesians 1:18-19  “I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, and his incomparably great power for us who believe.  That power is like the working of his mighty strength.”

Psalm 19:1 “The heavens declare the  glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands.”

Psalm 147:5 “Great is our Lord and mighty in power; his understanding has no limit.”

GREEN PASTURES

GREEN PASTURES.jpg

GREEN PASTURES

Psalm 23:2 “He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters.”

The Scene: A peaceful, restful, eye pleasing greenery–a landscape scene: for the Christian, green is a sign of life and a color that is restful to the eye (with the birds nearby; a sign of the Holy Trinity.)

Psalm 52:8 “But I am like a green olive tree flourishing in the house of God; I trust in God’s unfailing love for ever and ever.”

So, when life becomes stressful to the mind and heart, call on the Holy Spirit to show the way out–to peace, through the green valley.

Psalm4:8 “I will lie down and sleep in peace, for you alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety.”

Romans 8:6-9 “The mind of the sinful man is death, but the mind controlled by the Spirit is life and peace; the sinful mind is hostile to God. It does not submit to God’s law, nor can it do so. Those controlled by the sinful nature cannot please God. You, however, are controlled not by the sinful nature but by the Spirit, if the Spirit of God lives in you.  And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Christ.”

JESUS LOOKS AT THE HEART

JESUS LOOKS AT THE HEART

JESUS LOOKS AT THE HEART

Acts 15:8 “God who knows the heart, showed that he accepted them by giving the Holy Spirit to them, just as he did to us. He made no distinction between us and them, for he purified their hearts by faith.” (No difference between Jew and Gentile with our Lord Jesus Christ)

The Scene: Symbolism–the window of the heart. Jesus desires all people to open their hearts to the light of His truth.

2 Corinthians 4:6 “For God, who said, ‘Let light shine out of darkness,’ made his light shine in our hearts to give us the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ. ”

  • For many people, Jesus finds the windows to their hearts closed and the shade drawn.
  • For some the window may be partly open with the shade pulled half-way down.
  • For a few, Jesus finds the window to their hearts open and the shade all the way up, ready to receive from the Holy Spirit the light of the Truth of the Word of God.

John 16:13-15 “But when he, the Spirit of Truth comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come. He will bring glory to me by taking from what is mine and making it known to you.  All that belongs to the Father is mine.  That is why I said the Spirit will take from what is mine and make it known to you.”  (Jesus speaking to the disciples)

Therefore, it behooves every Christian to keep an open window in our hearts, ready to receive every Word out of the mouth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus, the creator of the Word. ( See John 1:1)

RISEN LORD

RISEN LORD.jpg

RISEN LORD

1 John 1:5 “This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all.”

The Scene: Symbolic rising of the morning sun–a reminder of the risen Lord whose light shines in our hearts each day.

1 John 1:7 “But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin.”

Colossians 3:1-5 “Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. When Christ who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory. Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry.”
