Jeremiah 9:4,6 ” ‘Beware of your friends; do not trust your brothers. For every brother is a deceiver, and every friend a slanderer. You live in the midst of deception; in their deceit they refuse to acknowledge me,’ declares the Lord.”
The Scene: Splattering paint balls hitting against a glass pane, going splat, splat, splat.
The paint ball splats represent insults thrown our way. The Holy Spirit points out to us that the splats did not come through the glass, though at first it seemed as though they were coming through the glass. This is how Satan works too– through deceptions and delusions; smoke and mirrors.
When we have the sweet Spirit of Jesus Christ in us, we are not hurt nor fooled or upset by those who are used by Satan to obscure our outlook on life. We have the ability to wipe off the glass and see things clearly again–the blind shall see.
2 John 7-8 “Many deceivers, who do not acknowledge Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh, have gone out into the world. Any such person is the deceiver and the antichrist. Watch out that you do not lose what you have worked for, but that you may be rewarded fully.”
2 Timothy 3:12-13 “In fact, everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted, while evil men and imposters will go from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived.”
