LIFE’S PATHS

LIFE'S PATH

                                                  LIFE’S PATHS

Isaiah 35:8-9 And a highway will be there; it will be called the the Way of Holiness. The unclean will not journey on it; it will be for those who walk in that Way; wicked fools will not go about on it. No lion will be there, nor will any ferocious beasts get up on it; they will not be found there. But only the redeemed will walk there,

The Scene: 1) The highway to the left depicts the Christian’s narrow, straight path/ journey through life that leads to righteousness, the eternal life in heaven. The fields are green and life abounds. 2) The highway to the right depicts the non-believer’s wide/winding path through life that leads to destruction, death and hell. The fields are dead to the right of the highway.

Proverbs 15:24 The path of life leads upward for the wise to keep him going down to the grave.

We must keep our eyes on Jesus Christ, if we are to follow the right path to victory over death’s sting.

1 Corinthians 15:55-57 Where, O death is your victory? Where, O death is your sting? The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Proverbs 4:27 Do not swerve to the right or the left; keep your foot from evil.

Spiritual maturity comes from  the discipline required as we read the Word  and hear from God, the Father, through the work of the Holy Spirit, on a daily basis.

James 1:22 Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.

WALK IN THE LIGHT

WALK IN THE LIGHT

                                  WALK IN THE LIGHT

1 John 1:7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin.

The Scene: The darkness pressing in around true believers in Jesus Christ, the Son of God.

The darkness presses in around every Christian, yet he/she may continue to walk in the light. 1 John encourages us to continue to persevere in our walk with Jesus, the Light of the World. For it is only through this walk that we get to know  God the Father and have access to Him.

Matthew 5:14 “You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden.”

Whenever we sin we must be quick to ask for forgiveness, if we are to stay in God’s light. A continuous effort is required.

Romans 8:36-37 As it is written: “For your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.” (Paul speaking) No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.

CLEAR SIGHT

CLEAR SIGHT

                                        CLEAR SIGHT

Psalm 146:8 The Lord gives sight to the blind, the Lord lifts up those who are bowed down, the  Lord loves the righteous.

The Scene: Half drawn vertical blinds; representing the blind world view. It is much easier for someone to see clearly, when looking out a window, when the blind is pulled open.

John 9:25  He replied “Whether he is a sinner or not, I do not know. One thing I do know. I was blind and now I see!”

As we walk through life trying to follow the Holy Spirit’s lead and we mature, we will have spiritual,  physical & mental clarity about the happenings around us (the Holy Spirit’s discernment).

Luke 10:23 Then he turned to his disciples and said privately, “Blessed are the eyes that see what you see. For I tell you that many prophets and kings wanted to see what you see but did not see it, and to hear what you hear but did not hear it.”

TRUTH

TRUTH

                                             TRUTH

Ephesians 4:15 Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will in all things grow up into him who is the Head, that is, Christ.

The Scene: The Holy Bible and its jacket appears to have what could look like  a mouth and lips.

God’s Word is truth, the Holy Bible is truth. God the Father, Jesus the Son, and the Holy Spirit are truth. God cannot lie. (See Hebrews 6:8)

Genesis  Chapters 42-46  tell the story of Joseph and his brothers reuniting. Only when, in the end, the brothers chose to confess, tell the truth and repent, did they receive their reward of food, protection from Pharoah, etc.

Psalm 119:72 The law from your mouth is more precious to me than thousands of pieces of silver and gold.

Proverbs 23:23 Buy the truth and do not sell it; get wisdom, discipline and understanding.

PILLAR

PILLAR

PILLAR (The presence of the Lord)

Genesis 28:22 and this stone that I have set up as a pillar will be God’s house and all that you give me I will give you a tenth.

The Scene: (7) Seven natural stones (uncut by human hands) to make a pillar. Seven  is the Bible number for completion, ministry of Jesus, revelation.

Pillars of stone, clouds, fire are mentioned early in the Holy Scriptures, representing the presence of God the Father.

Genesis 28:18-19 Early the  next morning Jacob took the stone he had placed under his head and set it up as a pillar and poured oil on top of it. He called that place Bethel though the city used to be called Luz.

Bethel : House of God; also the House of God; His Church.

The Holy Spirit gave His gifts (7) to build up the Body of Christ. The seven gifts found in Romans 12: 6-8  Prophecy, Serving,Teaching, Encouraging, Giving, Leadership, Mercy–these gifts are required for the Body of Christ to exist.  In the Church, Jesus is our stone, once rejected, now our rock. Jesus is our pillar; He will return on a cloud as our Savior and King.

Exodus 13:21 By day the Lord went ahead of them in a pillar of cloud to guide them on their way and by night in a pillar of fire to give them light, so that they could travel by day or night.

GOD’S WORD IS ALWAYS HOT ( A NOW WORD)

GOD'S WORD IS ALWAYS HOT

GOD’S WORD IS ALWAYS HOT

Psalm 143:8 Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in you. Show me the way I should go, for to you I lift up my soul. Rescue me from my enemies.

The Scene: The Holy Bible resting on top of a heating pad– God’s Word is never cold! His Word is always a now Word. God’s Word never needs warming or refreshing. King David knew this well and longed for God’s now Word.

Psalm 119:105 Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path.

God’s Word does not die nor get cold.

Hebrews 4:12 For the Word of God is living and active. Sharper than any doubled edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the  heart.

When we love God and study to show ourselves approved unto God, workmen who do not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of Truth, He blesses us with a now Word.

(See 2 Timothy 2:15.)

WHO WILL TESTIFY FOR ME?

WHO WILL TESTIFY FOR ME

WHO WILL TESTIFY FOR ME?

1 John 5:6-7 This is the one who came by water and blood–Jesus Christ. He did not come by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit who testifies, because the Spirit is truth. For there are three that testify: the Spirit, the water and the blood; and the three are in agreement. We accept man’s testimony, but God’s testimony is greater because it is the testimony of God, which he has given about his Son.

There are many voices in this world who speak out against the Lord and His people. But who will speak out for the Lord and true Christian believers i.e., those who are born again?

John 15:26-27  “When the Counselor comes, whom I send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who goes out from the Father, he will testify about me. And you must testify, for you have been with me from the beginning.”

LIVING WATER WELLING UP

LIVING WATER WELLING UP

                                    LIVING WATER WELLING UP

John 4:13-14  Jesus answered, ” Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks the water I give him will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life.”

The Scene: An active spring bubbling forth fresh water, representing the spring of life the Christian receives when he/she has chosen Jesus the Christ as Lord and Savior and has become born-again.

Man cannot cleanse his own soul. Only the living water of Jesus’ Word can make us whole and pure.

Jeremiah 2:13” My people have committed two sins: They have forsaken Me, the spring of living water, and have dug their own cisterns, broken cisterns that cannot hold water.”

Man, on his own, cannot live the Godly life as our Creator wants us to live. We must daily read His Word and live it, to the best of our abilities.

James 3:9-12 With the tongue we praise our Lord and Father, and with it we curse men, who have been made in God’s likeness. Out of the same mouth comes praise and cursing. My brothers, this should not be. Can both fresh water and salt water flow from the same spring? My brothers can a fig tree bear olives or a grapevine bear figs? Neither can a salt spring produce fresh water.

TREE OF WISDOM

TREE OF WISDOM

  TREE OF WISDOM

Proverbs 13:13-14, 18  Blessed is the man who finds wisdom, the man who gains understanding, for she is more profitable than silver and yields better returns than gold. She is a tree of life to those who embrace her; those who lay hold of her will be blessed.

The Scene: God’s wisdom is the Tree of Life.                                                                             NOTE:The tree has been pruned. God prunes those who believe in Him,whom He loves.

A tree is said to have a root system equal in size to, or greater, than its canopy. In a similar way, God’s plan for us is to live our lives utilizing His wisdom, from the tree of life, which comes from His Word. Like the root system of the tree of life, true believers’ strength and stability come from the root system, God’s Holy Word.

Proverbs 11:30 The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life, and he who wins souls is wise.

Seek Godly wisdom daily.

CONSUMING FIRE

CONSUMING FIRE

CONSUMING FIRE

Hebrews 12:29 for our  God is a consuming fire.

A Word from the Lord: “I am like the warmth of a fire in the winter time, to those who follow after Me and love Me.” NOTE: Fire is a symbol of the divine presence, power and cleansing.

Acts 7:30-31 After 40 years had passed, an angel of the Lord appeared to Moses in the flames of a burning bush in the desert near Mount Sinai. When he saw this, he was amazed at the sight.

God,  as a consuming fire, does not allow sin to be near Him. Any sin is burned up–God desires to be near (and in) His people, when they are repentant, filled with the love of Jesus, and the Holy Spirit.

Those who do His will feel the warmth of His love for His children- – our God is a God of passion & compassion. Jesus’ crucifixion, death and resurrection on the third day is our proof of His love for us.

John 19: 25-27 Near the cross of Jesus stood his mother, his mother’s sister, Mary the wife of Clopas and Mary Magdalene. When Jesus saw his mother there, and the disciple whom he loved standing nearby, he said to his mother,” Dear woman, here is your son.” and to the disciple,” Here is your mother.” From that time on, the disciple took her into his home.

Jesus, near death, in one final act of compassion for others, gave instruction in the care of His  mother.
