LET YOUR LIGHT SHINE

LET YOUR LIGHT SHINE

2 Corinthians 4:6 “For God, who said, ‘Let light shine out of darkness,’ made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ. “

The Scene: Bright search lights scanning the night sky, going back and forth. God’s people, believers in Jesus Christ, the Son of God, have been given the ability and opportunity to be lights for Jesus in a dark world, to lead the spiritually lost to focus on the Savior of the world.

Matthew 5:16 “In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.”

We can all praise God for the opportunities He gives us to expand the kingdom of God. Pray for the opportunity to witness to others, the boldness to speak in His behalf, spreading the good news of the gospel of our Lord and Savior. Matthew 10:32-33 “Whoever acknowledges me before men, I will also acknowledge him before my Father in heaven. But whoever disowns me before men, I will disown him before my Father in heaven.”

LIVING WATERS

LIVING WATER

Revelation 21:6 “He said to me: ‘It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To him who is thirsty I will give to drink without cost from the spring of the water of life.’ “

The Scene: A pitcher of water poured forth; living water fresh like the snow-melt from a mountain stream–representing God’s Living Word.

Revelation 22:1a “Then the angel showed me the river of the water of life, as clear crystal, flowing from the throne of God and the Lamb.”

Revelation 22:17 “The Spirit and the bride say, ‘Come!’ And let him who hears say, ‘Come!’ Whoever is thirsty, let him come; and whoever wishes, let him take the free gift of the water of life.”

Once a person is born-again, filled with the Spirit, he too pours forth God’s living water.

John 7:37-38 “On the last and greatest day of the Feast, Jesus stood and said in a loud voice, ‘If anyone is thirsty, let him come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me as the Scripture has said, streams of living water will flow from within him.’ “

JESUS SAVES

JESUS SAVES.jpg

JESUS SAVES

Romans 10:13 ” For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

The Scene: Life preserver floating in troubled waters.

Someone called for help! ”  Jesus! Jesus!” The waves were big and splashing all around. Then out of nowhere came a life preserver, landing in the water

James 1:2-6 “Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverence must finish its work so that you may mature and complete, not lacking anything. If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him. But when he asks, he must believe and not doubt, because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind.

Isaiah 12:2 “Surely God is my salvation; I will trust and not be afraid. The Lord, the Lord, is my strength and my song; for he has become my salvation.”

Isaiah 25:9 “In that day they will say, ‘Surely that is our God; we trusted in him and he saved us. This is the Lord, we trusted in him; let us rejoice and be glad in his salvation.”

BE A FRIEND FOR GOD

                            BE A FRIEND FOR GOD
2 Corinthians 5:20 “We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God.”
The Scene: A contrast: Two pictures within one; looked at as a closeup, the one picture could appear as a “desert” scene–but pull away and view the whole picture from a distance and see a “dessert”, a cupcake:  two similar words with entirely different meanings and spellings.
The main point here is that Christians, those who are born-again, need to be working for God. The desert may appear to be beautiful but can be a very dangerous place. Some say they are Christians, but are really more like the desert. The unsaved person may be attracted to either kind, not knowing the difference between those are working for God and those who are working for themselves, instead.  Let’s be “dessert” Christians, not the other kind.
Isaiah 6:8 ” Then I heard the voice of the Lord say, ‘Whom shall I send?‘ and who will go for us? And I said, ‘Here am I.  Send me! ‘ “
We have to show those who are looking for the Messiah what Jesus Christ and His Father truly are, to help further the kingdom. To accomplish this assignment and to be effective, we must be God-like, filled with Holy Spirit’s wisdom, knowledge, understanding and discernment with Godly love for others.
2 Timothy 2:15 “Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth.”

RISEN LORD

RISEN LORD.jpg

RISEN LORD

1 John 1:5 “This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all.”

The Scene: Symbolic rising of the morning sun–a reminder of the risen Lord whose light shines in our hearts each day.

1 John 1:7 “But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin.”

Colossians 3:1-5 “Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. When Christ who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory. Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry.”

PILLAR IN THE TEMPLE

PILLAR IN THE TEMPLE

PILLAR IN THE TEMPLE

Revelation 3:11-13 ” I am coming soon.  Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown.  Him who overcomes I will make a pillar in the temple of my God. Never again will he leave it. I will write on him the name of my God and the name of the city of my God, the new Jerusalem, which is coming down out of heaven from my God; and I will also write on him my new name. He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.”

The Scene: a pillar in the temple of heaven–

  • 1) pillar cap–a crown; the crown of life (James 1:12)
  • 2) grapevine– wrapped around the pillar; Jesus the Christ  James 15:1)
  • 3) vine branches– attached to the vine; overcomers, believers (John 15:5)
  • 4) base foundation– a firm foundation; Jesus the Christ, (Isaiah 25:16), and His Word, (Matthew 7:24).

Jesus assures us by His Word that overcomers, true believers, will, indeed one day join Him at His throne in heaven.

Revelation 3:21 “To him who overcomes, I will give the right to sit with me on my throne, just as I overcame and sat down with my Father on his throne.”

RESTORER OF THE WALL

RESTORER OF THE WALL.jpg

RESTORER OF THE WALL

Nehemiah 4:20 ” Wherever you hear the sound of the trumpet join us* there. Our God will fight for us! ”

The Scene: Representation of the defender of our* faith, Jesus, standing in the gap of our damaged wall of faith.

Nehemiah’s desire was to repair the wall of Jerusalem, even though Israel’s enemies threatened to destroy whatever they rebuilt. The people were afraid. Nehemiah told them, “Our God will fight for us.” And so it is today:  Jesus will stand in the gap for us and defend us when our wall of faith has been weakened, or broken, damaged by people or circumstances that have hurt us.

1 John 5:5 ” Who is it that overcomes the world? Only he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God.”

*Born-again believers are those who have accepted Jesus Christ, Savior, Son of God the Father and have prayed for Jesus to be Lord of their lives.

FOR THIS I WAS BORN

FOR THIS I WAS BORNFOR THIS I WAS BORN

Numbers 24:17-19 “I see him, but not now; I behold him, but not near . A star will come out of Jacob; a scepter will rise out of Israel.  He will crush the foreheads of Moab, the skulls of all the sons of Sheth. Edom will be conquered; Seir, his enemy, will be conquered, but Israel will grow strong.  A ruler will come out of Jacob and destroy the survivors of the city.”*

The Scene: The Star of the East, representing the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ.

*Balaam was a heathen diviner that the Lord used for His own purposes against Balak, the head of the Moabites. “Then he uttered his oracle:  ‘The oracle of Balaam son of Beor, the oracle of one whose eye sees clearly.'” Numbers 24:15

The Star of the East in the oracle of Balaam occurred about 1452 B.C.–spoken as a promise of the coming of the Jewish Messiah. The Star of the East–God’s promise of His coming.  See Matthew 2:1-2.

“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they might have life and have it to the full.”  John 10:10

THE ONLY WAY

THE ONLY WAY.jpg

THE ONLY WAY

2 Chronicles 15:1-2 “The Spirit of God came upon Azariah son of Oded.  He went out to meet Asa and said to him, ‘Listen to me, Asa and all Judah and Benjamin. The Lord is with you when you are with him. If you seek him, he will be found by you, but if you forsake him, he will forsake you.'”

II Timothy 2:11-12 “Here is a trustworthy saying: ‘If we died with him, we will also live with him; If we endure, we will also reign with him, he will also disown us; If we are faithless, he will remain faithful, for he cannot disown himself.’

The Scene: Street signs: “One Way Jesus” and “Stop Sinning” intended as instructions for following the narrow way, Jesus Christ.

The Lord is with anyone when that individual is born again. If anyone seeks Him,  God will be found by them.  The Holy Spirit reveals to His people that every person decides for him/herself.  Revelation 3:5-6 “He who overcomes will, like them, be dressed in white.”

John 3:3 “In reply Jesus declared, ‘I tell you the truth, no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again.'”

Exodus 33:14 “The Lord replied, ‘My presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.'”

FIVE LOAVES & TWO FISHES

FIVE LOAVES & TWO FISHES.jpg

FIVE LOAVES & TWO FISH

John 6:5-13 (Read)

“Why do you worry about the times in which you live? Am I not well able to meet your needs & the needs of all My people?” said the Lord.

The Scene: five* loaves of bread and two* fish in two straw baskets. The bread is symbolic of Jesus as the Bread of Life, nourishment for body, soul & spirit. He is our strength and our salvation. John 6:35 “Then Jesus declared, ‘I am the bread of life.  He who comes to me will never go hungry, and he who believes in me will never be thirsty.’   v.58 This is the bread that came down from heaven.  Your forefathers ate manna and died, but he who feeds on this bread will live forever.'”

Jesus said to His disciples, ” I will make you fishers of men.” (Matthew 4:19). The fish symbol was common in Jesus’ day (for Christians) and seen in the Greek word ICHTHUS, which was comprised of  Jesus Christ God’s Son Savior (Ref. Augsburg Fortreas copyright 1990- Mark Bangert) Symbols of the Church.

*Bible number 5=grace; 2=union, Jesus

The point: The Holy Spirit impresses God’s people that He is in control and that He ultimately will determine the fate of  the USA & every other nation, and that God’s children are His and He will take care of His own.

He is our provider, Jehovah Rapha.
