GOD’S PLAN

Genesis 45:3-5, 7-8 ” Joseph said to his brothers, ‘I am Joseph! Is my father still living?’ But his brothers were not able to answer him, because they were terrified at his presence. Then Joseph said to his brothers, ‘Come close to me.’ When they had done so, he said, ‘I am your brother Joseph, the one you sold into Egypt! And now do not be distressed and do not be angry with yourselves for selling me here, because it was to save lives that God sent me ahead of you. But God sent me ahead of you to preserve for you a remnant on earth and to save your lives by a great deliverance. So then, it was not you who sent me here, but God. He made me father to Pharaoh, lord of his entire household and ruler of all Egypt.’ “

God has a plan for every life–the story of Joseph and his brothers exemplifies this point. (Read Genesis 45 for complete understanding.)

Satan wants to put fear into everyone to thwart God’s plan for our lives. God’s people are required to stay steadfast in their faith. Joseph remained sure in his faith in God, rising to be second in command over the Egyptian nation under Pharaoh.

Ecclesiastes 3:17. “I thought in my heart, ‘God will bring to judgment both the righteous and the wicked, for there will be a time for every activity, a time for every deed.’ “

Because Joseph was faithful to God, Father God was able to use Joseph to save the Israelites (a remnant). Joseph is seen as a type of Christ because of his role as a savior.
