
John 2:19-21 “Jesus answered them, ‘Destroy this temple, and I will raise it again in three days.’ The Jews replied, ‘It has taken forty-six years to build this temple and you are going to raise it in three days? But the temple he had spoken of was his body.”
The Scene: A compass that indicates both true north and magnetic north.
The Holy Spirit through God’s Word points the Christian toward God’s Truth.
The difference between denominationalism and true Christianity, as intended by God’s Word and the teachings of Jesus, is like the difference between magnetic north and true north on a compass. Denominationalism in many ways has taken God’s Truth and bent it by adding man’s philosophies, traditions, misunderstandings, and misinterpretations of God’s Word.
The high priests of the Pharisees and Sadducees had Jesus killed because of their envy/jealousy (their iniquity, which means missing the mark of God’s perfection).
Matthew 27:18-20 “For he knew it was out of envy that they handed Jesus over to him. While Pilate was sitting on the judge’s seat, his wife sent him this message: ‘Don’t have anything to do with that innocent man, for I have suffered a great deal today in a dream because of him.’ But the chief priests and the elders persuaded the crowd to ask for Barabbas and to have Jesus executed.”
