BE NOT ENTANGLED

BE NOT ENTANGLED

Hebrews 12:1-2 “Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.”

The Scene: Rolls of barbed wire stretched out along the ground as a trap/ensnarement.

Many times God’s people entangle themselves in entrapments of their own making (sin) created by their own words and deeds.

God’s children can help themselves by listening to the voice of the Holy Spirit and reading the the Holy Scriptures, doing what Jesus Christ says is the right way to live.

James 1:22-25 “Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like a man who looks at his face in a mirror and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets like. But the man who looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues to do this, not forgetting what he has heard, but doing it–he will be blessed in what he does.”
