Psalm 118:17 ” I will not die but live, and will proclaim what the Lord has done. The Lord has chastened me severely, but he has not given me over to death.”
The Scene: Satan, the grim reaper, awaiting an opportunity to take down King David ahead of God’s perfect timing. But instead it is he himself who is taken down by the words of King David, “I will not die.”
Christians, born-again, filled with the Holy Spirit are released from the spirit of death when they die.
1 Corinthians 15:22, 25-26 “For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive. For he must reign until he has put all his enemies under his feet. The last enemy to be destroyed is death.”
1 Corinthians 15:55-57 ” ‘Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting?’ The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But Thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.”
We have the victory over death, the spirit of death must let us go, for Jesus Christ, our Messiah and Lord, has given His all for us, so that we may be saved to eternal life in heaven with Him.
