CHANGED HEARTS

CHANGED HEARTS

                               CHANGED HEARTS

Matthew 13:15 ” For this people’s heart have become calloused; they hardly hear with their ears and they have closed their eyes. Otherwise they might see with their eyes, hear with their ears, understand with their hearts and turn, and I will hear them.

Jesus was speaking to the Jews. People change for the better when they accept and believe in the sacrifice Jesus made for them on the cross.

The Scene: 1) Believer’s hearts. 2) Thorns: Crown of Jesus

When their hearts have been pierced by the thorns of Jesus’ crown, only then will their attitudes change. Issues of the heart, the bad stuff (sin), is allowed to flow out of their hearts and then healing/ change can begin.

Matthew 13:16-17  “But blessed are your eyes because they see, and your ears because they hear.  For I tell you the truth, many prophets and righteous men longed to see what you see but did not see it, and to hear what you hear but did not hear it.”

Give God praise and glory for His goodness, mercy and love.  Amen.

GOD OF LIGHT

GOD OF LIGHT

                                     GOD OF LIGHT

Exodus 27:20  ” Command the Israelites to bring you clear oil of pressed olives for the light so that the lamps may be kept burning.”

John 5:35 “John was a lamp that burned and gave light, and you chose to follow him for a time to enjoy his light.”

The Scene: 1) God’s people, representing lampstands, filled with olive oil, 2) Olive oil-God’s Word, 3) White robe- represents purity, 4) blue represents royalty; sash of 3 strands = Holy Trinity.  We are sent by King Jesus to be a light to the world. 5) Bowls: gold and bronze to hold the oil from which the fire gains its fuel.

WORDS FROM THE LORD: ” I AM your God, I AM your God of light, who goes before you. The darkness cannot stand the light.”

To true believers of the Word who listen to the Word and do what it says, the Word is the oil to provide the light.

Psalm 119:105 “Your Word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path.”

PEACE BE WITH YOU

PEACE BE WITH YOU

                             PEACE BE WITH YOU

John 10:10  ” The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full (abundantly KJV).

The Scene:  A peaceful garden of quiet solitude, with a light breeze blowing through the trees that whispers, “Peace be with you,” with birds singing.

John 14:27  “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.”

God wants us, through belief in His Son, to have peace in all situations, trusting in Him, that we will come through all situations for the better.

John 3:16  ” For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”

GREATER THAN THE MOUNTAINS

GREATER THAN THE MOUNTAINS

                        GREATER THAN THE MOUNTAINS

Psalm 46:1-2God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea.”

You, O Lord will be our God, long after the mountains are gone.

Isaiah 40:4-5 ” Every valley will be raised up, every mountain and hill made low; the rough ground shall become level, the rugged places a plain. And the glory of the Lord will be revealed, and all mankind together will see it. For the mouth of the Lord has spoken.”

The Word of the Lord is truth and everlasting, as are His promises, which all born-again believers can proclaim! He is our God, because He said so!

MY NAME (JEHOVAH, EL SHADDAI)

MY NAME (JEHOVAH, EL SHADDAI)

                         MY NAME (JEHOVAH, EL SHADDAI)

Exodus 6:2 ” God also said to Moses, “I am the Lord. I appeared to Abraham, to Isaac and to Jacob as God Almighty, but my name the Lord I did not make myself known to them.”

God is telling Moses that until then God had been known to his forefathers, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob as Jehovah (Creator), but now, to Moses, He is saying I am the Lord ,that is, (El Shaddai) meaning: God is all sufficient for you–a God that is enough for you. Now do as I ask. I’ll be backing you up all the way!

The Scene: 1) The circle: Represents God as Creator. He is complete within Himself.

2) Infinity symbol: God is faithful forever.

3) Rainbow colors: Represent His promises. The rainbow prism of colors is infinite as He is infinite in His Word is to us.

4) The Ring, represented by the circle: A wedding band, Jesus’ wedding band for His bride (The Church)

NOTE: The infinity symbol inside the circle resembles a pair of eyes, God’s omniscience…

Names are important to God. They have real meaning. He gave Jesus His name before He was born. Jesus’ name means Savior, our Savior!

John 8:58 “I tell you the truth,” Jesus answered, before Abraham was born, I am.”

I AM, being “I will be what I will be.”

Revelation 1:17b-18a ” “Do not be afraid. I am the First and the Last. I am the Living One;”

GOD’S FULLNESS OVERFLOWING

GOD'S FULLNESS OVERFLOWING

                              GOD’S FULLNESS OVERFLOWING

Psalm 23:5 ” You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies, you anoint my head with oil, my cup overflows.”

God loves us so much that He gave His all for us, so that He could give His many blessings!

John 3:16 ” For God so loved the world, that he gave his on and only son, that whoever belives in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”

2 Corinthians 1:5 ” For just as the sufferings of Christ flow over into our live, so also through Christ our comfort overflows.”

GOD, THE FIRST LIGHT

GOD, THE FIRST LIGHT

                        GOD, THE FIRST LIGHT

Genesis 1:3 ” And God said “Let there be light,” and there was light.

The Scene: Just like the sun coming up over the horizon, so does the light increase in our hearts as we come to know Jesus and the Father more and more, as we mature in Christ our Lord.

Daniel 12:3 ” Those who are wise will shine like the brightness of the heavens, and those who lead many to righteousness, like stars for ever and ever.”

The Holy Spirit has placed His light inside the hearts and minds of true believers, those born-again.

Isaiah 60:1-2 ” Arise, shine for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord rises upon you. See, darkness covers the earth and thick darkness is over the peoples, but the Lord rises upon you and his glory appears over you.”

JOINED TOGETHER

JOINED TOGETHER

                                      JOINED TOGETHER

Hebrews 6:19 ” We have this hope as an anchor of the soul, firm and secure. It  enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain, where Jesus, who went before us, has entered on our behalf. He has become a high priest forever, in the order of Melchizedek.”

The Scene:1) The anchor: Jesus is our anchor. We are anchored through His Word.

2) Chain: of god and silver; God’s people. Like links in a chain, His people are joined together to form a long line, through the ages, til the end of time, as we know it.

3) Mountains: Representing Father God in His power.

DEMAND FOR A SIGN

DEMAND FOR A SIGN

                              THE DEMAND FOR A SIGN

Matthew 16:1-3 ” The Pharisees and Sadducees came to  Jesus asking him to show them a sign from heaven. He replied, ” When evening comes, you say, ‘It will be fair weather; for the sky is red’, and in the morning ,’Today it will be stormy, for the sky is red and overcast.’  You know how to interpret the appearance of the sky, but you cannot interpret the signs of the times.”

The Scene: 1) Jesus on the cross: Darkness- No hope, the world view.

2) The resurrection cross: Bright day- The sun is rising–hope, The Christian view.

3) The Tree in the middle, separating the two views: Representing the Tree of Life, looking somewhat like a cross. The Tree of Life has bright green leaves.  One view is of a lost, dark world and the other a view of hope of resurrection day at Jesus’ return and eternal life.

The Pharisees & Sadducees thought they had won the battle, with Jesus, by His crucificxion, a great day for the believers in Him.  He died for the sins of the world.

The empty cross represents the greatest victory for Christians. We know Jesus is alive and well. His resurrection guarantees us that those born again will rise to meet Him on that great day.

Matthew 28:5-7 ” The Angel said to the women,” Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here; he has risen, just as he said, Come and see the place where he lay. Then go quickly and tell his disciples; he has risen from the dead and is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him. Now I have told you.”

HE IS RISEN!  HALLELUJAH!

GROW

GROW

                                     GROW!

1 Corinthians 3:6 ” I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God made it grow.

The Scene: 1) The Creator. God’s outstretched hand: represents His command “GROW!”

God allows, sometimes brings trouble into people’s lives so they will grow in maturity. For the Christian, it is so we will grow in spiritual maturity. For non-Christians, it is so they can come into the faith.

Hebrews 6:1 ” Therefore let us leave the elementary teachings about Christ and go on into maturity, not laying again the foundation of repentance from acts that lead to death and of faith in God,”

God wants people to grow in Him by trusting in Him, as we pass through the storms of our lives. Storms that show us God’s awesome power and makes us aware of who He is, through Christ Jesus our Savior.

Isaiah 43:2-3,5 “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze ” For I am the Lord, your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior; Do not be afraid , for I am with you;

We are called and have to do our part,”GROW!”

James 1:4 ” Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.”

When we put our hand into God’s hand He will make us grow! Read Psalm 121
