ARMOR OF LIGHT

armor-of-light

                                                                   ARMOR OF LIGHT

Romans 13:12 “The night is nearly over; the day is almost here. So let us put aside the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light.”**

** GOD OF LIGHT: John 3:19-21 “This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved the darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed. But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what he has done has been done through God.”

The Scene: A breastplate of armor of the Roman era, circa Jesus’ earthly ministry, representing the breastplate of righteousness–*

*NOTE: The armor was intended in its day to protect the wearer from a frontal attack only–it was understood that the wearer was to face the enemy, not turn  his back to the enemy. He was to stand firm and be of good courage.

Ephesians 6:14 ” Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace.”

The Christian, therefore, is to understand that the battle (spiritual) is the Lord Jesus Christ’s battle.

Each morning God’s children need to pray to the God of Light, Jesus, for His protection and guidance. When we do this it’s like putting on His whole armor of light to guide us. When we put on the whole armor of God we have Jesus in us. (For complete understanding of the whole armor Read Romans 13:10-20 and Ephesians 6:16-18.)

JESUS IS THE WAY

JESUS IS THE WAY.jpg

                                     JESUS IS THE WAY

Luke 16:26 “And besides all this, between us and you a great chasm has been fixed, so that those who want to go from here to you cannot, nor can anyone cross over from there to us.”

The Scene: 1) a great chasm– symbolic of the great divide between heaven, being in God’s presence;  and hell, which is eternal separation from God. 2) narrow bridge and 3) Jesus who is the only way (the gate) to heaven.

Access to heaven can only be obtained by placing ones faith and trust in Jesus, the Christ, the Anointed one, Messiah, Son of God, our living hope.

Belief in Jesus our Savior is the only way through the narrow gate (which represents personally accepting God the Son) to gain eternity in heaven.

John 10:9 “I am the gate;  whoever enters through me will be saved. He will come in and go out, and find pasture.”

Jesus is our Rock of salvation (The Rock bridge).

Romans 12:2 “Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is–his good and perfect will.”

SET FREE II

SET FREE II.jpg

                             SET FREE III

See Romans 7:15-ff “I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do. And if I do what I do not want to do, I agree that the law is good. I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my sinful nature.  For I have the desire to do what is good, but  I cannot carry it out. Now if I do what I do not want to do, it is no longer I who do it, but it is sin living in me that does it. So I find the law at work: Who will rescue me from  this body of death? Thanks be to God–through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, I myself in my mind am a slave to God’s law, but  in the sinful nature a slave to the law of sin.”

The Scene: Man’s legs in shackles, symbol of man being bound up by his sin then then being set free through the act of salvation, rather than through the law.  This also symbolizes the grace of Almighty God through His Son Jesus Christ, His atoning death and resurrection.

Man’s sinful nature makes him a slave to the law of sin and death.

Romans 8:1-2 “Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit of life set me free from the law of sin and death.

Having been set free through personal faith in Jesus Christ, we can soar with the eagles.

DO NOT JUDGE

                            do-not-judge

                                                                  DO NOT JUDGE

Matthew 7:1-2Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.”

The Scene: A  measuring cup that is a person. The cup is half full, an indication that the person is not full, that is, incomplete, lacking in some way, according to the person viewing the cup (the one doing the judging).

Romans 2:1 “You, therefore, have no excuse, you who pass judgement on someone else, for at whatever point you judge the other, you are condemning yourself, because you who pass judgement do the same things.”

Self-condemnation is therefore brought upon oneself by judging others. Something worth pondering….

We are called to be servants of God, not judges–there is only one true Judge–God.What is the opposite of judging?  Christians are to show mercy to their brothers and sisters in Christ.

Matthew 5:7 “Blessed are the merciful for they will be shown mercy.” See the other Beatitudes for complete, better, understanding:  Matthew 5:1-11

Revelation 14:13 “Then I heard a voice from heaven say,’Write:  Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on.’ ‘Yes, says the Spirit, ‘they will rest from their labor, for their deeds will follow them.'”

POINTS OF LIGHT

TWELVE POINTS OF LIGHT.jpg

                                                       TWELVE POINTS OF LIGHT

Revelation 21:11-22 (Read about the 12 points of light.)

The Scene: The number 12 is prevalent in this chapter of the Book of the Revelation and in other places throughout the Holy Bible. In the above- referenced location of Holy Scripture, the number 12 can have special meanings, such as:  12 in the Bible numbers system stands for: 1) divine government 2) rule 3) authority 4) perfection 5) power.

In the referenced Holy Scriptures are mentioned 12 gates, 12 angels, 12 foundations, 12,000  stadia (square dimension for structures, such as, walls 144 cubits thick (12 x 12) 12 types of precious stones, 12 pearls as the gates.

Through His Word in Chapter 22 of Revelation,  we can see that:

  • God is a God of order
  • God keeps His Word
  • God is faithful and true
  • God is mighty, loving and kind
  • God is just, but fair
  • God remembers His own

We are His sheep and He is our Good Shepherd — so do not fear.

JUSTIFICATION

JUSTIFICATION.jpg

                                             JUSTIFICATION

Romans 5:18 “Consequently, just as the result of one trespass was condemnation for all men, so also the result of one act of righteousness was justification that brings life for all men.”

The Scene: Post rock of limestone, in the form of the numbers one plus one equals infinity.

Jesus is the the Rock of our salvation.

Romans 11:32 “For God has bound all men over to disobedience so that he may have mercy on them.”

It was through Jesus Christ (Yeshua Ha Maschiach) one man, that life was given to all who would receive Him.

  • *All mankind = infinity
  •  ** All who believe in Jesus the Christ, the only Son of Father God, love Him and obey His Word.

HIS DIVINE POWER

HIS DIVINE POWER.jpg

                                                          HIS DIVINE POWER

2 Peter 1:3 “His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness.”
The Scene: The massive, dark clouds rolled in and covered the sky. Slowly, an opening in the clouds appeared and a bright ray of sun burst through, shining on the home and land below.  It is only through the love of Jesus and His name, that come good gifts to us from above, for those who love the Lord and keep His Word.
Luke 8:25b “…In fear and amazement they asked one another, ‘Who is this? He commands even the winds and the water, and they obey him.'”

I AM NEAR

i-am-near

                                 I AM NEAR

Matthew 1:23 “The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son and they will call him ‘Immanuel’–which means, ‘God with us.'”

The Scene: representation of Jesus, Immanuel, walking along the seashore.

A  vision given by the Holy Spirit to the writer:  Jesus said, as He walked along the seashore, “Wait but a little while longer.  Remember I am with you always, for I AM Immanuel.  I am the God of Isaac, Abraham and Jacob and all those who choose to follow me and call me Lord, and who will keep my Word.”

1Timothy 1:15,4:10 “Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners–of whom I am the worst… (and for this we labor and strive), that we have put our hope in the living God, who is the Savior of all men, and especially of those who believe.”

STEADFAST (IS OUR GOD)

STEADFAST(IS OUR GOD).jpg

                                             STEADFAST (IS OUR GOD)

1 Samuel 24 Read for better understanding

The Scene:The Holy Cross made of very strong structural steel”H” beams, symbolic of the steadfastness of our Lord Jesus. The huge base represents the strong foundation of Jesus that is rooted in the Father’s love.

In 1 Samuel 24 King Saul has been in pursuit of David. The Lord delivers Saul into David’s hands, in the cave, near the crags of the wild goats at En Gedi. David, however, takes the high road and does not kill Saul but tells him, “I will not lift my hand against my master, because he is the Lords anointed.” To which Saul replies,” You are more righteous than I.” David remained steadfast in the Lord.

We are called to follow Jesus’ example. “Be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.” Ephesians 6:10

As the time drew near for Jesus to die on the cross, He remained steadfast.

Luke 9:51 “As the time approached for him to be taken up to heaven, Jesus resolutely set out for Jerusalem.”

UNITY OF THE FAITH

UNITY OF THE FAITH.jpg

                                                              UNITY OF THE FAITH

John 17:20-22 “My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are one in me and I am in you. I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one.”

The Scene: The holy sacraments- one of the tenets of the faith, of the Christian Church.

1 Corinthians 10:17 “Because there is one loaf, we, who are many, are the one body, for we all partake of the one loaf.”

1 Corinthians 1:10 “I appeal to you, brothers, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree with one another so that there may be no divisions among you and that you may be perfectly united.”

Jesus, from the beginning, wanted and expected the church to be one with Him and the Father.

Matthew 26:25b-26 ” While they were eating, Jesus took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to his disciples, saying,’Take and eat; this is my body.’ Then he took the cup, gave thanks and offered it to them, saying,’Drink from it all of you. This is my blood of the  covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.'”

The holy sacraments are to be taken as spiritual food and as a unifier of the faithful.

John 6:51 “I am the living bread that came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever. This bread is my flesh, which I give for the life of the world.”

John 6:35 “Then Jesus declared,’I am the bread of life. He who comes to me will never go hungry, and he who believes in me will never be thirsty.'”

The Church cannot be the Church without the cleansing of the blood of Jesus the Christ of Nazareth.

Hebrews 9:22 “In fact, the law requires that nearly everything be cleansed with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness.”
